There is a health tape out there called "Dead Doctors" that claims the USDA Food Pyramid that was designed by four lawyers is all wrong and that it fills the rules for fattening livestock for the market.

While I wanted to like the tape for it's contrarian opinions -- I found out that it was a sham.

Here is one of many links that expose Joel D. Wallach, joining the ranks of Nobel prize nominees such as Tookie Williams:

But the food pyramid could be wrong, I am highly suspicious of the weight in which an individual is claimed to be overweight. I know lots of people in great shape that would be overweight by the government's standards.

I've cut down on my portions, snack twice a month, excercise(Ab Lounge) and get a doggy bag at a eat out.

At 5"7" I now weigh 150#'s. Have more energy.

Got a friend at 5' 6" that is 330#'s.

He has been on a diet for two years now. Many excuses for special occasions.

His health isn't that good now.

Gov't surveys suck.

Well, it is. It was designed to fatten up Archer Daniels Midland's bottom line. ;)

It's simple - people following that pyramid are eating 300+ grams of carbohydrates a day (many of them disguised as "healthy foods") when they should be eating less than 100 grams to maintain weight, or less than fifty to lose.
