Is it Londonastien time of the month again.
Number of points about this book a lot of what it detailed was wrong distorted and in fact much of it has been superseded by events

If folks want to see how their local libraries spend taxpayers' dollars, just ask for a copy of the budget. Then be prepared to threaten them with a lawyer when they refuse to cough up the info. Then when they
finally do hand over the information, be prepared to be totally confused by the acquisitions budget info.
But if you want a quick and dirty confirmation of just how screwed up your library's priorities are, not to mention how free they are with other peoples' money, look to see how many copies of the Clintons' books they've purchased.

Londonistan provides the domestic UK story of Islam and Michael Gove's 7/7 Celsius the wider context from a UK perspective.
Anyone wanting to get under the skin of Islam & UK should read both books. Great reads.

What errors were made in the book? I'm curious, because I am thinking about buying it.

Why am I not surprised to hear that this nonsense is coming from "The Peoples Republic of NY"! Liberals are always screaming about free speech issues unless, that speech differs from their leftist agenda.

Miami-Dade wants to remove a book that protrays Cuba as a little paradise for children (i.e. blatantly lies). ACLU goes ballistic.
Brooklyn wants to remove a book that protrays the UK as sucumbbing to dhimmitude (i.e. tells the truth). ACLU is nowhere in sight.

In any case, the point here is about what the library's up to, not the merits of the book :)

Just one more 'little' step to censor the truth.
You can get "Londonistan" and another equally important book, "While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within" by Bruce Bawer. I expect the next book will be "While America slept......

Well it is about the merits of the book to some extent - they wanted an academic reference for it which was not forthcoming.

LOL no I listed the mistakes she had made.
There are many issues here.
1)that we were looking the wrong way.
I detailed why she thought that and what actually happened.
2) That we allowed them to set up shop here.
I detailed why she thought that and what actually happened bringing in the history of the Cold War.
3) What she feels will come to pass.
I went on to explain what actions we are taking today .

Have you been to your local library lately? If so, I'll bet the drivel on your shelves isn't any different from the drivel on ours. The people running the library only give a rat's hairy hind end about merit when they need an excuse for keeping something off the shelves. They stock plenty of dreck. But its dreck they agree with.

Bollox, vimto can you remember what thread it was on, I don't want to go into all that detail again if I can help it.
To: tonycavanagh
I am on the 'wait list' at my library for this book and I'd appreciate more information about it's inaccuracies and distortions.
Thank you

ok there were 2 major errors both linked
She maintained that 7/7th happend due to the fact that we allowed Islamic terrorists to flourish due to liberal policies and Political correctness.
This is a total distortion of the facts, the fact is/was Different priorities, until quite recently the majority of Britains anti terrorist intelligence gathering were aimed at North Ireland.
These included monitoring and fighting the IRA INLA UVF UFF. And smaller cowboy units
MI5, Special Branch and other domestic intelligence agencies also had other priorities as well as the troubles in North Ireland.
This included surveillance of foreign hostile intelligence agencies
Domestic terrorists groups such as the Animal Rights Front, CND, and a lot of resources were also diverted to fight the renewed War on Drugs, requested by President Bush prior to Sept 11th. Other organised crime, organised crime has gone global.
With Sept 11th priorities changed, but it didnt happen over night, why. Well Surveillance assets had to be recruited , a surveillance or undercover operative who worked in the Irish sphere would not pass muster in mosque.
Intelligence analysts a new orbat has to be drawn up, new faces identified, and retraining of what is and what is not important.
Today and this is very important it is now against the law to preach any form of terrorist activity from a Mosque church or any meeting.
