Woe Be Unto Those Who Offend "Little Ones"

Israel's air attack on Qana on July 30 resulted in the death of 37 children.
Hezbelloh has been accused on using civilians, including children, as human shields. The Israeli government claims that the death of innocent children was a "tragic mistake."
Regardless of the underlying facts, 37 precious children are dead. Victims of non-ending war in the Middle East.
Media images of those dead and mutilated children are haunting reminders of the horror of war and the carnage visited upon the most innocent and vulnerable among us.
Seeing dead and suffering children also brings to mind the stern warning issued by Jesus in Matthew 18: 6:
'But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.'
Jesus made no allowances for 'Collateral Damage' or 'Tragic Mistakes,' all too common during a bloody war.
The millstone would appear to apply to all who harm His 'Little Ones.'
However, although Jesus made no mention of intent, one can safely assume that the darkest, most punishing, corners of hell are reserved for those who deliberately use innocent children to wage war by using their young bodies as weapons of mass destruction.
Indeed, deliberately forcing a child to strap explosives to his or her body as a suicide bomber just to kill civilians, including other innocent children, is beyond comprehension.
Such barbaric behavior must surely be far more grievous than being party to an act of war in which children are mistakenly, and unintentionally, harmed.
Nearly 2000 years after Jesus, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Mier remarked that peace will be realized in the Middle East at such time as Muslim Arabs love their children more than they hate the Israelis.
Unfortunately, that day has not yet arrived.
Man's inhumanity toward man continues unabated, including unspeakable offenses against the world's 'Little Ones.'
Woe be unto those!

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. What about the part that says "which believe in me". If you want to play the goofy "take one verse out of context" game, then you would have to admit that these children DON'T QUALIFY, since they believed in Allah. Sorry, you can't have it both ways.

Wonder how Jesus feels about people using His name to attack His people to further their own political agenda?"
I rather suspect that Jesus could give a darn about political agendas and the like.
His message seems to have eluded you----especially as concerns the innocent 'Little Ones.'
Doubt very much that He would consider quoting His words from Matthew 18:6 as an 'attack' on anyone.
Quite the opposite in fact.

"Matthew 18 is 'propoganda?' Sick!"
A mind can become so muddled-up by spiritualistic, symbolic "types and shadows" and similar arguments, that offending "little ones" in one circumstance is equated with another circumstance of hitting an enemy weapons site and later finding that the enemy had put his children on that site.
Then you waffled from spiritual leaps of illogic to a literal extreme: that "Jesus made no allowances for 'Collateral Damage' or 'Tragic Mistakes'." So Jesus didn't allow for "mistakes?" Is that a Christian law?
Israel didn't even really make a "mistake" in hitting that target. It was a weapons site. The enemy intentionally put children on that site.

Good point. So, Jesus MEANT to say:
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
As for Little Ones who do NOT BELIEVE IN ME and worship instead Allah, blessed are those who hang a millstone around their tiny necks and drown them in the depth of the sea."
Somehow His SPIRITUAL message seems missing in that!
To: aerotsmith
But who is it who offended them? The Israelis who dropped the bomb, or the Lebanese who started the war, and hid behind the children?
To: AmericaUnited
Everyone needs to quit arguing about this; you're getting lured down the path that implies that Israel killed these children. They didn't. Those who used them as human shields did. Israel is innocent in this.
If you would be sick enough to take a little kid and throw him in front of a truck, killing him, would the truck be the killer, or would you be the killer? The truck was just the instrument used to kill the kid; YOU killed the kid.
The same argument applies to "Guns don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people."
In this case, Israel is just the instrument that the terrorists used to kill children.

I wonder what CHRIST would have to say about "little ones" dressed in camo, equipped with grenades and AK-47's, firing Russian built RPG's into a tank from the Army of GOD? Israelis are indeed "GOD's chosen people", so it follows that their Army would be HIS by choice!

You either take the verse literally, out of context (which the author did) or you properly understand it in context. If choice 1, then only "believer" child are covered. If choice 2, then "does not allow for collateral damage" is a total crock. Choose...

It seems to me that a lot of people get confused about what matters. They think world opinion or the international community are important. Ask Ahminijad. He says, not so. Israelis, likewise, keep their heads down and do their job while media types flutter and chatter meaninglessly around them.

So, in the usual roundabout, antisemitic way, you're saying that millstones should be hung around the necks of the people of Israel, and that they be drowned.
Because you're advocating for the terrorists, let's use a good analogy to fit your effort.
Let's say you tied your children to railroad tracks at the end of a railroad tunnel (as the enemy positioned his children at the weapons site). Then a train came through the tunnel and ran over the children. The sad engineer later said that the deaths of the children was a "tragic mistake."
Would you blame the engineer as you're blaming Israel?
Of course, you would.

Revelation 19:11-15~11
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

IMO, our country should adopt laws in favor of hanging millstones around the necks of our enemies (including all kinds of neo-Nazis--especially slippery crypto-Nazis), and tossing them all into the ocean. Our enemies and their sympathizers (propagandists) are worse than offensive--murderous to children.

The party that offended these dead children is Hezbollah and their Lebanese enablers.
Pure and simple.

Hezb'allah purposely put the children in harm's way. They are culpable, not Israel. Israel is/was defending herself and did not intentionally target the "Little ones." Hezb'allah will be the ones answering for the deaths in front of the Judge...and I bet He ain't Allah.
