Overall Summary and Comments
This has not been a good day for Israel. Hezbollah has hit Kfar Giladi and Haifa hard, more than a dozen are dead. Olmert and the cabinet have hung the country out to dry. If ever we wanted to see the results of a democrat presidency and leadership of our country, just look at the lack of leadership by the Israeli government. It sickens me because the world gave Israel a blank check to deal with Hezbollah and they wasted theopportunity.
Ground Operations
My open sources for ground operations have not been on line this weekend. Olmert says that the IDF has finished setting up a buffer zone into Lebanon. If what I see developing on the map is true, theyve only pushed about 4 km, no where near far enough to stop the short range rocket attacks. Hopefully I can get the map updated early next week.
An incursion up to the Litani - some 30 km from Israel - would require, the insertion of an entire new division into Lebanon. The IDF already has eight brigades on the ground in Lebanon made up of 10,000 troops. A news source said that it would take several days to reach the Litani.
Another commando raid in Tyre had a degree of success in targeting a rocket launching group. They destroyed seven rocket launchers in villages adjacent to the city and killed three terrorists.

Rocket Attacks
Hezbollah continues to use the barrage method of fire, resulting in high casualites. Haifa and Kfar Giladi were expecially hit, substantial deaths and large numbers of wounded. 29 rockets were launched at Haifa over course of Sunday alone. The multiple barrages appear to have interfered with Israeli counter battery radar by overloading the system and not allowing it to quickly fix locations. However, as some media sources are showing, IAF is on station and can quickly respond to many of the attacks.
