I hope you're independently wealthy, because I don't want to have to pay for your healthcare. Nor do I want my insurance premiums to go up because of your personal weakness and irresponsibility.
You are another one that has been easily swayed. And oh yes! I pay my own health care thank you. If I get sick, NO one will have to pay for ME, and that's a fact!

Funny, smoking rates have dropped dramatically while health care costs have risen dramatically at the same time. It seems to me that the correlation PROVES that a lack of smokers causes higher health care costs!

Taxpayers foot the doctors bill for more than half of obesity-related medical costs, which reached a total of $75 billion in 2003, according to a new study.
The public pays about $39 billion a year -- or about $175 per person -- for obesity through Medicare and Medicaid programs, which cover sicknesses caused by obesity including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, several types of cancer and gallbladder disease.
