I can't tell what's happening. Certainly the Hezzies would be crowing about a victory if that's why the fighting stopped. But, then again, may be the dust hasn't cleared.
The Israelis don't tend to release bad news right away. They been good about reporting any good news however small - killed six guerillas, destroyed one rocket launcher.

Now on to Baalbek...the hospital is where one of the big bad guys has taken over for command and control..it doesn't sound as though Loftus is up to the minute..he doesn't mention current status..

You are right. They will be 'special needs' orphans who are impoverished, etc., etc, ad nauseum.
Here's one of my beefs (sorry, a couple glasses of wine helping me out here) - by nature, I don't want to see anyone killed. I am a live-and-let-live sort. However, after 9/11, I realized I had to take sides, for my own survival, AND the survival of my country. I get very angry that these thugs, these islamofascists, bring out a very ugly, aggressive, killer instinct in me that I really never knew was there. I probably should have guessed I had it, being a mom and all.

I'm guessing Syria doesn't want to get into it. First of all, they have a ready made enemy next door in Iraq, just waiting to avenge the deaths of American Servicemen. It's not a stretch to believe they have been warned by W.
I also don't think IAF's bombing in Syria would be politically correct. I suspect the Israelis also know much more about who is located where in Syria, including Assad. They fly jets over him every so often as a reminder.
