The wife and father of kidnapped Israeli soldier Ehud Goldwasser, Karnit, holding a wedding photograph, and Shlomo Goldwasser arrive at Heathrow Airport in London, Monday July 31, 2006. Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers on July 12, triggering an Israeli offensive against Lebanon that has killed hundreds of people, mostly civilians.
I hope I'm right, and they get them out of there. It removes one of the dogs from the fight and makes Hezbollah look like instigators if they continue with their terror rocket attacks.
Might also be worth a Divine Mercy chaplet...
I hate to do this to you but I have been out of the loop all day - darnit! I am trying to catch up...quick synopsis please? troops on the ground near Syria?
Many Thanks!
Snatching who...a hostage or Nasrallah?
Bekaa's an ugly place for a long stay.
IF this is a snatch op to get the kidnapped soldiers back, and IF they were thought to be in Balebek, then this op isn't going to well if they were forced to insert 10 miles north of Balbek. Or could be they kidnapped soldiers were 10 miles north of Balbek
You mean they are flying in OB/GYNs? (couldn't resist)
Oh, you KID!
;^)
Baalbek operation may be a snatch operation.
If they are talking about it, it is probably already over.
That could well be the case.
Though reportedly the microwave popcorn has some real nasty chemicals in it--partly from the bag somehow. Guess it's back to the air popper.

Really sad. There are so many nice Lebanese, Christians and ...? My American friend of Lebanese ancestry has cousins there and she is the only political conservative on the American side. Tough time...

Israeli gunship briefly lands in east Lebanon amid clashes
BAALBEK, Lebanon, Aug 1, 2006 (AFP) - An Israeli helicopter made a brief landing near the eastern city of Baalbek as battles raged between Israeli air forces and guerrillas of the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah late Tuesday, police said.
Gunships hovering at low altitude tried to land on hilltops overlooking Baalbek, a main Hezbollah stronghold, but faced fierce resistance from Hezbollah guerrillas who opened up with anti-aircraft batteries, they said.
On helicopter landed for a few moments on Ain Jawzeh hill, east of Baalbek, but was forced to flee because of intense Hezbollah fire.
Gunships also flew at low altitude while combing the road linking Baalbek to the Syrian city of Homs, attacking and setting fire to three service stations.
The aircraft had zoomed over northern Lebanon before diving over the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country where they staged 12 raids on the region of Baalbek, firing at least 24 rockets.
There was no word on possible casualties.-AFP
