Hezbollah Firing Rockets On Israel From Within Civilian Areas Is A Disproportionate Response
July 31, 2006 | Laissez-Faire Capitalist

Various world leaders, as well as the MSM in the United States, has declared that Israel is waging a "disproportionate war" against Hezbollah. This sly attempt effectively makes war-criminal Hezbollah terrorists to be the victims rather than the perpetrators.

With that said, if one is going to label Israel as waging a "disproportionate war" against Hezbollah, then they must also readily apply that label to Hezbollah or drop the term outright.

This is based upon the following logical conclusions:

When Hezbollah imbeds itself within civilian communities and rains rockets down on Israel from those locations, not only do they put those Lebanese civilians at risk of retaliation (and thusly place the blame on themselves if there is a retaliation at those locations), they wage a war against Israel that is "disproportionate" to Israel's attacks, since it is never "proportional" to intentionally put civilians at risk like Hezbollah so readily does when it fires rockets from within civilian areas.

Yes, this means of attacking Israel should not be engaged in by Hezbollah. They should, instead, attack Israel - if they are so hell-bound in their fanatical inclinations - outside of civilian areas.

If Hezbollah did this, would they not be doing their part to make this a "proportional" war? I imagine that any logical human being would come to the same conclusion. I.e. do not expect liberals to think logically though.

Remember, if the MSM and various world leaders are intent in sticking that label on Israel, they must also stick that label on Hezbollah...or drop it all outright. Fair is fair, right?

This disproportionate crap is starting to really piss me off.

If someone hits me in the nose without cause I will do everything in my power to shatter his jaw.

I totally agree with you.

Israel should hit them - and hit them hard enough - so that Hezbollah never messes with them again.

And we should do the same.

Hezbollah had no right to kidnap those Israeli soldiers in the first place and start this new round of fighting.

Why then is Israel held to fighting by "the rules,' as the international community somehow makes them out to be, but yet Hezbollah is not held to the same standards by the international community?

I don't hear anyone saying that Hezbollah is fighting a disproportionate war when it imbeds itself within civilan communities and fires rockets from those places, yet Israel is fighting a "disproportionate war" when it justly defends itself against an unprovoked aggression by Hezbollah.

BTW, have you ever heard the MSM ever say that any radical Muslim group, like Hamas or Hezbollah, attacks a "sovereign nation" when they attack Israel? They apply this label to the Bush administrartion concerning the Iraq war though.

Wining a war is all about using disproportionate force to impose your will on your opponent. The media has this fantasy about wars being about trading jabs tit for tat.

You must have studied Patton. He wasn't politically correct but he did get the job done.

Liberals have this fantasy about a "level playing field" when it comes to just about anything, like employment, education, etc, so it really wouldn't surprise me if they also believe in a level playing field concerning wars, too.

The MSM, whether it realizes it or not, does little to nothing to help Israel when it comes to terrorists attacking a sovereign nation like Israel.

God is on Israel's side, since they are His people, and, in the end, that is far more than I can say for Hezbollah.

Various world leaders, as well as the MSM in the United States wouldn't consider it a disproportionate war if they attended a typical Hezbollah rally in Beirut.

and worse... Neil Cavuto of Fox News, is telling a spokesman, former Israel minister, (or some such title) -- that he should know that we - they - us and Israel - will have to sit down and talk with Hezbollah, sooner or later...

Yeah? Hezbollah killed 241 Americans in the barracks bombing of 1983. We do not have to talk to Hezbollah. At all.

Journalism is the "bad news" business.

All you have to do to understand journalism is to recognize that

IOW, there is no reason why we should defer to the pretensions of journalism.
