The left-wing candidate in Mexico's disputed election, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and his backers are occupying the capital's main square and avenues. Mr Lopez Obrador on Sunday called on his adherents to paralyse Mexico City until every vote was recounted.
Official results from the 2 July vote gave victory to the conservative Felipe Calderon by half a percentage point.
Mr Lopez Obrador alleges vote counts were rigged - but EU monitors have said they found no irregularities.
The country's electoral court has until the end of August to rule on a recount.

"WE WANT A RECOUNT!!!"
>>Mr Lopez Obrador alleges vote counts were rigged - but EU monitors have said they found no irregularities.<<
Is anybody else happy its the EU stuck certifying this election and not us?
Do you think Jimmah Carter, fresh from Venezuela, would willingly rise to the occasion?
This page from the socialist playbook is getting old.
Jimmy carter probably told this left-wing nut job that he won and he should fight.
One month to come up with procedural excuses, more "newly discovered uncounted ballots", to gin up examples of minorities that were discouraged from voting, and to plan the the upcoming revolution. By then, Obrador will have convinced his supporters to lay their lives on the line,(because they will have to, literally) and to forever believe that the election was "stolen", ala Al Gore, despite any number of facts and figures that dismiss that conclusion as a lie. Will he also get the support of the narco-terrorist drug gangs that rule some of the border states? Maybe even members of the military? It is going to get hot, south of the border, this summer.
If Obrador tries to manage a coup by using mobs to take over government buildings and public areas, he won't have the support of most of the country. The north of Mexico is where all the wealth is, and they will never stand for it. Obrador is overflowing with self-importance, but the Mexican establishment pulls the strings there.
But it could get nasty.
Sore Loserman!
Jimmuh Cahtuh would probably side with Obrador.

Keep a close eye on this situation.
The last violent revolution in Mexico was in the 1920's.
It's been historically an unusually quiet period.
A spark in the wrong place and our southern border could be stormed by millions of refugees.
(We must prepare to fly them all immediately to blue states with liberal healthcare and welfare programs. Massachusetts is my current favorite.)
