With American leftists at the wheel.
Maybe Hugo Chavez can do something to help out?

It gives them cover to do exactly that which they are accusing.
Are the DUmmies going over there to play their bongos?
Where's Jimmy Carter to help certify the election and stop revolution? Oh wait, the socialist didn't win? Never mind.
Let's call it what it is.
"This is going to be a bumpy ride."
I think it's going to get real ugly, too.
This worries me. I've been following this over on DU and they see this as a model on how to take back the US presidency. Some people over there believe that all Republican victories here are stolen because by definition, patriots only vote democratic. Therefore, any Republican victories must have been stolen because the PEOPLE would never vote for them. And the Mexicans are showing them how to prevent conservatives from taking office. I suspect that global forces and money are behind this election in Mexico to ultimately destabilize democracy around the world.
Mexico already probably has difficulties with ordinary logistics for Mexico City. it has around twenty million people--about a fifth of the population. Toronto probably has around 13% of the Canadian population (four million out of thirty million), but Canada is more developed than Mexico.
Nah, their bongos are strictly reserved for anti-George Bush causes.
What, you mean, Mexico's economy sucks and its not really a democracy?
Naaah, that couldn't possibly be the reason why all those illegal immigrants risk themselves to get here and will continue to do so even if we build that wall taller and bigger.
You might say that the USA does not have an interest in helping Mexico's economy, that they should fix their own problems. But the USA has a hugh interest in fixing la economía mexicana. It is in my opinion way more series than building the Giant Fricken (TM) Wall and if we can help make Mexico a better place, most of the people escaping to America will find their own country worth staying in.
If NAFTA was such a drain on our jobs, and all our jobs were outsourced to Mexico, then why are all these Mexicans coming over the border to do all those jobs that the gringos won't do? It makes no sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor....
The fact of the matter is that a handful of people, some of them the richest in the whole world, if you can believe that, rule Mexico. Most of the people there are as poor as Steve Martin's family in "The Jerk" and are just looking for the chance to provide for their families. The poor in other countries can live like kings even on the lowest wages in the USA. The average working man in China, for example, makes the same amount of money in a month which I used to make in a week working part time at a grocery store back when I was 17.
It is our job as a country to spread democracy around the world by spreading prosperity around the world. One of the reasons why the Eastern Bloc fell was because the world was opening up and the people over there could see that the average working man in a democracy lived like a king compared to their sorry state. Once that happened, there was no way socialism could survive in the hearts and minds of the people. (Only in the hearts and the minds of the children of the affluent, who didn't earn it, who feel guilt over their position in life and don't understand what it is like to live in a world without freedom or opportunity.)
For years the lowly in Mexico let themselves be held down by the thumbs of the rich and powerful, and now, the cry out for freedom and opportunity. Here's hoping they find it.
Not only liberals, though. The former leader of italy also tried to contest the vote there, although the liberal candidate won. Mr. Gore set a bad precedent for all representative governments.
From post #3:
Despite Sunday's massive turnout, a poll published Sunday showed concerns over Lopez Obrador's movement.
The poll, sponsored by the Reforma newspaper, showed that 58 percent of Mexicans don't believe Lopez Obrador when he says he'll respect the decision of the electoral court. Fifty-seven percent believe his protest campaign could spark violence.
Also, 59 percent said they believe he has acted "irresponsibly" since the July 2 elections, compared to 28 percent who said the same of Calderon.
Your points are intellectual, viable and worth consideration. Some peoples answers to problems in Mexico are just hot air. We have real people, with real problems, and they need real solutions. Hopefully the PRD party is showing signs of a division, there are some folks in the party who are moderate socialists and don't see the yellers and hollering mad elements as being able to fix anything. People in Mexico City are going to get tired of all of this traffic snarls and will hope that Vicente Fox uses some water cannons and clean the streets, even if it means taking to the klink the guy who thinks he won.
Oh, so Algore FINALLY invented something!
