LOL. I am curious as to the identity of the 'chairman' who wanted Novak to publish this newsy tidbit. Was it done to help or hurt---inquiring minds and all that.

We should run candidates just a liberal as Pelosi to make sure they don't win and we retain the House.

Sadly, you are right. It is the House, however, that has stayed closer to the base. It is the Republican Senate that has wimped out.

The NJ open seat to be filled (currently held temporarily by a Dem) is in a strongly Dem district ("plurality of Hispanics"). So, we'll lose that one. The current lone Independent in the House caucauses with the Dems, so we can assume 231-203 going into November. So, again, it looks like if we lose 14 seats (down to 217), we could lose control (unless the "Blue Dog" Dems save us or switch parties).

For some of us, it's a real conundrum. If you vote for the democrat, Heaven help you. If you vote for the republican, they will NEVER stop giving us Rinos to vote for. If you don't vote, you are called unAmerican. I really don't know what to do.

"Think about it: Who in the GOP house/senate jumps out as a smart tough leader? How many can we name?

Tom Tancredo (R-CO); although he doesn't have the chance of that proverbial snowball.

Senator John Cornyn of Texas: He just doesn't get much publicity but he is a hard working, behind-the-scenes Conservative.

Tha...tha...tha...that's all folks!!!

"How did my comment elicit such a question from you?"

I don't know what your specific answer is, but I think many people would blame conservatives if this actually happened.

The GOP needs to try conservatism. Retaining the house without having the guiding principles of limited government means that conservatives get hosed either way.

Every post you've made has been a bash of either local, state, or national Republicans, while repeatedly endorsing independent leftist Kinky Friedman.

What was your prior freepname?

You mean that tax-cutting, pro-life, conservative-judges, strong-military, aggressive-national-defense approach? Why should they? They do it, and all the "real conservatives" bitch and moan that they didn't do "X" or "Y," so "I'm gonna stay home and let the liberals take over!"

Sure. And I knew they did see that Dems have more wealthy donors. I just wondered how closely fundraising seems to tie into actual voting. I would imagine if you put your money where you're mouth is, you do go vote. However, I also know of people who donate to both parties, so I'm not sure how they vote (unless of course they go for the vote early/vote often scenario!) ;)
