Excerpts of former President Bill Clinton's remarks earlier this month at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colo.
I don't know how long they can make this old dog hunt. Ever since 2000, the 2002 and 2004 elections were about, "No matter how bad you think we are, you can't vote for them, because you can't trust them to defend the country. And oh, by the way, forget about global warming; let's talk about flag burning and gay marriage." I mean, I just don't know how long you can milk that old cow without its milk running dry. ... My advice is that we should have a national campaign which basically reiterates what we believe the differences are between -- not just Republicans and Democrats, but the relatively discrete section of the Republican Party that is totally controlling national government. ...
Karl Rove said that he was going to say we lived in a pre-9/11 world and Republicans lived in a post-9/11 world. You tell me. Example one: The White House and the House Republicans opposed spending $648 million a year to put in very high-technology, sophisticated scanning equipment that would at least give us a screen on all the cargo containers coming into all the ports and airports in America. They said, "We can't do that. It's too expensive. ..."
What was their first priority this year? Repealing the estate tax. What does it cost? About $250 billion over 10 years! For less than 1 percent of the American people. ... So he's willing to spend more than 20 times what it would cost to put in this safe-port material. The Republican Party in the Congress are willing to spend more than 20 times what it would cost to make 300 million Americans safer to help less than 1...

Talk about milking an old cow. Tax cuts don't cost the government. Especially not if you allow the people who have pr oven that they know how to make money work keep more of it in the first place. If tax cuts were so "expensive" why are tax revenues higher than any time this idiot was running things?

Here are the reasons why I disagree:
- Abortion and stem cell research. They cannot be justified within the framework of an ethic of natural rights.
- Poverty. The primary cause of poverty in a society that provides ample economic opportunity (see also: millions of illegal immigrants) is the breakdown of the married two-parent family.
- Power Corrupts. A government that can regulate industry is a government that will become captive to industry interests against the interests of the people and small businesses that cannot afford to lobby. Also see here, and here
- Failure of Progressive Economics. The minimum wage, job protection laws, the 40 hour work week and other progressive labor laws only protect some workers by making things more difficult for other, less established (read: non-white) workers.
- Taxes destroy jobs, and prevent new businesses and new jobs from being created.

I'm sorry but the union doc workers have nothing to do with security measures. Security is supplied by the Federal Government. They would be Federal Union workers and have nothing to do with the Dock Workers As I pointed out in my in my original post if you bothered to read and comprehend before screaming your mind benumbed Democrat Party cant.
However, the reason your masters in the Union were screaming is because the new Terminal Operator was going to do away with 1970s style labor practices and automate a large number of Union jobs. It had NOTHING at all to do with security. But I guess your idols at the Democrat National Committee forgot to feed you that little fact in your Port Talking Point memo hummmm Deaniac?

"I mean, I just don't know how long you can milk that old cow without its milk running dry. ..." For a moment, I thought he was talking about Hillarycare.....
However, the old Democrat cow, SOCIALISM, has run dry years ago, and even the greatest Socialist Empire in history died with the old Soviet Union.
Ne just doesn't get it: Americans will NOT cave in to the socialist/Liberal/Democrat agenda, and they can't win at the ballot box and they know it.
Liberal judges were their only way to get their agenda in place, and even that is starting to fail them.

Because we all know that Bill and Al put Global Warming above everything else when they were in the WH. Don't you know they stopped Global Warming in the 90's, then Bush and Rove started up Global Warming all over again. /sarc off

What in my post would give the slightest indication that I favor ANY union or Democratic party position?
I read your post and posted an honest question/opinion.
What's your problem?
To: neverdem
Bill Clinton, you lied and covered up terrorism on our shores while you had the reigns. How dare you continue to lie to the faces of American's after 911 which you could maybe have prevented. My liberal neighbor got the memo too as she said the EXACT words to us night before last! TRASH ALERT!
