Just heard on Fox (Jennifer Griffin)...Israel will not require Hezbollah to disarm for a cease fire to be accomplished.
Of course. It is just plain irresponsible for FNC or anyone else to be reporting such nonsense when it isn't true. It only emboldens the terrorists.
I heard that, too, but I think there's a different possibility: Brian also said it was first reported in Reuters, thus it may have been a lie and not a reflection of any inconsistency in Israel's actual position. Jennifer said she had confirmed it with an "Israeli official," and we all know this could be anyone, including the janitor, who might not have had any actual information. Sooooo, the first source of this may have been erroneous. I don't see Israel allowing any possible split (even assuming there is one) in their position becoming public.
I wish! I think he is just too darned weak.
Jennifer is excellent for the most part. I think she would use a solid source (however wrong he or she might have been).
I agree
I am surprised because Jennifer Griffin doesn't usually do this type of reporting
Though she did correct the record pretty fast
I totally disagree (respectfully). The momentum has 'changed' only in the minds of the Drive-By Media. They are anti-Israel 24/7. Meanwhile, most polls so far has the people solidly for Israel during this conflict. And the media has been getting a lot of Israel's strategy wrong, and then having to correct the record. By all accounts, Israel has been bombing the hell out of Hezbollah and has not let up. I saw Netenyaho a couple of hours ago and he flatly said they will not relent until Hezbollah is crushed (my word). I believe him before anyone in the Drive-By.
That's better. It would have been suicide for them not to demand it.
I further doubt that Condi suggested any such thing. At worst, she may have communicated something from the Lebanese government.
Which places her right smack dab in the running for this year's Rita Cosby Award.
Hez-Ebola will own Lebanon and the Palestinian territories. There will dancing in the streets across their part of the world. Look for street celebrations in some US cities if this was true.
---Now denied.
A reasonable explanation is that Rice proposed this and the initial Israeli response was not to completely shoot it down.---
I sure hope so. Their was an article posted yesterday about Bush wanting an immediate end to hostilities and then Rice is right back over there...
Could be she thought it was a solid source, or maybe she just hoped it was. It now appears whoever (or - if Reuters - whatever) the source was, it was wrong. I never thought Israel would be the first to blink in this - they have the superior force and the superior right, and for all Pres. Bush talks about multinational forces, it's just talk and Israel knows it, particularly since we're not committing any of our forces to any "multinational force." Pres. Bush isn't putting any pressure on Israel to stop what it's doing, and I don't think Condi is either - they're just talking about what to tell those bozos at the UN.
I hope you're right. You are also right in that I'm basing my response on the MSM. When I watched Special Report (Fox) last night, I was struck by the sense that Israel is in trouble. Thanks for the response!
Though she did correct the record pretty fast
Me too. She isn't a Hezbollah apologist like the entire CNN crew. But like all reporters these days, she is not immune from the pressure to be first even if you don't get it completely right.
Report probably put out by Hezbollah and picked up by the MSM as agitprop warfare. The Media are used by the enemy as a weapon in this conflict, and they either embrace that role or are too stupid to realize it.
IMHO, Israel can send all the Hezbollah "Koranimals" to their "reward" with the sitiuation as it is with not too much problem.
When you kill the same folks, but they are "unarmed", all the AL-"Koranimal" TV and our MSM, and the UN, and the EU, will REALLY "pile-on".......
It was a mistake on Jennifer's part to report this and she did correct the error
But I would never put her in the Rita category
