My understanding was that this is the position of the Hizbullah political wing; i doubt their military wing would buy that nor do i think Israel would buy that

I think currently at least some of the thinking has to be that sooner or later the moderate muslims(who they are I don't know) will turn on the radicals and start turning them in. Absent that your scenario may well play out.
When terrorists can hide in residential neighborhoods, be it Lebanon or L.A., and send off rockets at will and the locals stand by and "watch" the locals have just become terrorists as well.
You either fight terrorism or you are one. There is very little room for middle ground with Islamo terror fundamentalists IMHO.

What about the WMD's how do they play into the equation?
best guesses are that they are buried in Lebanon and Syria.

Unbelievable, rodguy. What we are up against is enormous. I hope there are enough of us up to the challenge. I wish everyone would see it.

What about the WMD's how do they play into the equation? Again, I have no information into what's really going on, but it seems to me that the Iranians are less likely to order Hezbollah to use the WMDs in Lebanon if the Israelis are only attacking Hezbollah, and not Iran directly. Use of WMDs by Hezbollah would require Israel to directly strike Iran, and Iran may not want to actually suffer an Israeli attack at this point. They don't yet have their bomb.
Basically, cleaning up Hezbollah removes one of the weaker parties without escalating into an all-out regional conflict. As long as the conflict is "low intensity", WMDs will probably not be used.
The price of using them is too high and is not justified just to protect Hezbollah, though Iran would probably feel justified in using them to protect itself.
I would hope that Israel would take control of the WMDs buried in Lebanon prior to launching a strike on Iran.

I"ll tell you Bahbah I thank my lucky stars every day for this site and the info on it.
The problem is when you try and explain some of this stuff it gets tough to do with some people who are far from being up to speed, a lot of it just flies over their heads.

Is anyone else watching Fox Newswatch? Neal Gabler just quoted Shepard Smith as saying "even Shepard understands that there can be no military solution." Well, if Shep says it, there you are.
To: jhp
Thanks I guess I didn't hear that part about the "political wing of Hezbollah"...
hmmmmmm...so there are the Lebanese, the Political wing of Hezbollah, and the military wing (terrorist wing?) of Hezbollah..and the world is supposed to get a coherent answer from all them?? LOL
