re: Patience column (Ynet)
Excellent Post, lots of intel in there. Maybe this should also be posted on the Lebanese sites (concerning their plans after this), but if the leaders haven't figured it out yet...
You lay down with dogs, you get fleas... or rockets.
P.S. I had to keep myself from posting that 24 pic of Bauer threatening to shoot the family of the terrorist of the same name though.
If they declared their actions in that town done, that means it's time to move onto the next target. You think taking the town was the whole war?
Just listening to Cavuto interview a former Mossad officer- he said they had tried to go in with one hand tied behind their back..limited incursions etc. But he feels this is (clearly) not working out and so they need to go in with more troops..he ended by saying..and we will.
This morning I woke up and realized that Israel is pursuing a very limited objective. Stop the missiles. That is all. They cannot stop Hezebola as a political force within Lebanon. That would require complete deconstruction of Lebanon.
They may not be rocket scientist but Hizbullah ain't stupid either. I've been over to Belmont club and they are split just like us as to the implementation of Israel's war strategy (or lack thereof). If Israel really wanted to go after the Hizbullah "cadre" of human fighters rather than weapons caches they would still need to move past Bent Jbail and Al Moons Ra. Hizbullah is waiting in their fortified positions all thru out southern lebanon they aren't running in droves to Bent Jbail just so they can fight. The "Pulp Fiction" author is just another Olmert sympathizer
This article that you posted, The Guardian interview with the Hezb. fighter, pretty much says it all, doesn't it?
TS- if you're up and for everyone- Bibi is up next on Cavuto 11 AM eastern. (thud alert)
17:03 IDF pulls out of Bint Jbail, Armored Corps still operating in surrounding area (Haaretz)
This heading needs to read, IDF mows over Bent Jbail and continues northward. Olmert sucks, the quicker Israel realizes it the better off they will be
Nor do we know the true information to second guess and analyze accurately. I'm not saying that people should stop doing this....I'm just saying that there is no possible way we can analyze and second guess with the information (or disinformation) we have access to.
I think frustration is just setting in with me because no nation seems to be willing to do what really needs to be done. The terrorists know this and they know how to use the useful idiots of the media. If sometime soon a different, heavy hand approach is not used, I fear our great-great-great grandchildren will either still be fighting this battle or wearing burkas.
Please let us know what he says.
i was being a little sarcastic, but when i see "pull out" i think "move back" not "push forward". There is enough media in Tyre that we would know of any substantial IDF move northward despite Israeli censors. I see no evidence that the IDF has moved beyond a mile or two into southern lebanon
Bibi: Doesn't believe that the US is trying to force Israel to stop the bombing. America understands that you need to be victorious. He doesn't feel any American pressure at all on Israel....
Netanyahu says: the Israeli cabinet agreed to disarm Hizballah. I hope (breaking report from al jazeera) it's not true that (paraphrase) they are backing off that goal. He is pleased with the support from the US and does sense any pressure from US to back off.
Bibi: They're not guerillas (Cavuto's word)...they're terrorists. Feels the moderate arabs in the region don't want Hezbullah to come out on top...bad for everyone in the Arab world....
I personally hope shes having a good dinner and disclosing some intell to help Israel.
Bibi: Olmert has received support from everyone, including myself.
Bibi says Olmert has received overwhelming support from everyone to FINISH the job.
The problem is we want Israel to go kick butt like in the 6 days war, and this time it isn't going to happen like that. We are not watching a movie, we are watching real time war.
I hate the thought of what would have happened during WWII if we had had modern communications technology....
I guess our question is, what is Olmert's definition of "the job".
