"Sources say Mee was told Gibson's comments would incite a lot of "Jewish hatred," that the situation in Israel was "way too inflammatory." It was mentioned several times that Gibson, who wrote, directed, and produced 2004's "The Passion of the Christ," had incited "anti-Jewish sentiment" and "For a drunk driving arrest, is this really worth all that?"
I call BS until this is corroborated by other media.

I have always read that he had a bad drinking problem back in the Mad Max days and had quite a temper (his comments in his biography) but had long ago quit drinking and cleaned himself up what with his large family, building his own Catholic Church on his property, etc.. This is a little shocking, but he has also not looked like himself for a while. Wonder what the backstory on this really is?

It sounds made up .. someone still holding a grudge over the success of the Passion

It could be...but if it's not he is only repeating what his father has been saying about the jews for years.
Do a google search of Hutton Gibson and his beliefs. Pretty scary.

I understand that this TMZ website has all the credibility of CBS and the NYT. In other words, they are not above creating stuff out of thin air.

When somebody says there's been a cover up, sometimes it's true. But more often the trouble is that the source has been reporting falsehoods (innocently or otherwise) and now has to explain why everybody else tells a different story. I am willing to wait for further evidence, but I put no confidence in TMZ, whoever they are.

Is it me, or does this sound completely made up?From this one line, "It was mentioned several times that Gibson, who wrote, directed, and produced 2004's "The Passion of the Christ," had incited "anti-Jewish sentiment" and "For a drunk driving arrest, is this really worth all that? to be in a police report makes me think that this is a smear story. Anything to discredit Gibson, after "The Passion." On the other hand, if they have it on tape, then it would say a lot about Gibson.
