I have always read that he had a bad drinking problem back in the Mad Max days and had quite a temper (his comments in his biography) but had long ago quit drinking and cleaned himself up what with his large family, building his own Catholic Church on his property, etc.. This is a little shocking, but he has also not looked like himself for a while. Wonder what the backstory on this really is?
I'll say. He's been looking downright crazy -- a lot like the booze and drugged out crazies on skid row. Booze and drugs can change behavior. So can some physical problems like brain tumors.
Whatever's going on with Mel, it really does seem like he's descending into a bad place in his life.
A fan of Gibson's from Day One, I saw him on one of the late night talk shows a good while back and he was off the walls with his disjointed responses and behavior. It was a little disturbing and disappointing but did not think less of him - just figured that he would probably rather be somewhere else. I'm hoping we can take this report with a whole shaker of salt.
