I prefer your position. Corruption in and of itself is bad. However, I wish you didn't have despair. There is a cleansing mechinism for corruption every two years. We can vote them out! The election got rid of Tom DeLay!
If it were you or I in congress we too would be protected by the Constitution from our legislative work being "questioned in any other place".
I don't see why this is so hard for people to understand.
His legitimate legislative work will be removed from the evidence. That's all.
This ruling does not help Jefferson that much. Giving him copies of what was seized would appear to be prudent and commonplace. It is surprising that there would have to be a Court order to do it since it would appear to me to be part of discovery for the defense.
