A federal appeals court on Friday barred the Justice Department from reviewing evidence seized from a Louisiana congressman's office during an unprecedented FBI raid on his Capitol Hill office in May.
A three-judge panel ordered a federal trial judge to ensure that Democratic Rep. William Jefferson be given copies of seized evidence contained on more than a dozen computer hard drives, several floppy disks and two boxes of paper documents.

Tom Delay IMHO is innocent and I believe he will win, if it does indeed go to trial.
Jefferson OTOH is ON TAPE accepting a bribe.

It all adds up. DeLay is toast.
As an American who wants men of character in positions of authority, I'd rather have Jefferson out now.

I would like to see Delay win if he has to run, rather than any Democrat. If he does withdraw people would still be correct in saying he never lost an election. I am sure that your opinion is very important to yourself but my speculation on this matter is as good as yours is. BTW how do you know what I would say if he withdraws?

Your statement is inaccurate. Witness the Republicans circling the wagons around DeLay.
You stated that DeLay has never lost an election. My position is that statement is devoid of meaning. Particularly if DeLay withdraws (which is very likely). If DeLay withdraws, he still would have never lost an election, but Nick Lampson would be the Congressman from TX22.
I would have preferred that DeLay lost the Republican primary and that the Republican primary winner became the next Congressman from TX22. It was not worth DeLay winning the primary only in order to make the claim that DeLay never lost an election.
This ruling does not help Jefferson that much. Giving him copies of what was seized would appear to be prudent and commonplace. It is surprising that there would have to be a Court order to do it since it would appear to me to be part of discovery for the defense.
No. I'm talking about DeLay's fear of losing to Lampson in the general election as "getting rid" of DeLay. It is obvious that DeLay has made it clear to the RPT that he will not mount a vigorous campaign. That's why the RPT is filing the no-chance appeal to the SCOTUS.

If your statement had any truth to it it would but demonstrate the exception to prove the rule.
But it has no truth, Mr DeLay has been found guilty of nothing and has in any case been removed from the Congress.

Your glee at the discomfort of a blackman is incredibly apparant. We didn't see you out there acting this way about Represenative Cunningham or a couple of others getting indicted/convicted for gross corruption this last year.
