...because he was upset by its barking. Ream pleaded with the judge to show no leniency, contending that Garcia showed no remorse. The woman aborted the baby because she was upset at the prospect of having a baby before she was ready to take care of it.
"Babies cry all the time," said the woman. "I just wasn't prepared to deal with it's whining and noise!"
The Judge showed understanding, contending that the woman does not need to show remorse over the killing of a human being before it is born.
"Children can be a problem when it comes to peace and quiet," the judge remarked.

Oh really, you apparently think jusice would be served by his getting raped in prison? If that's the case, you're sicker than he is.

No justice unless the guy gets the chair!

It's well known that German shepherds, like SUVs, can direct their human charges to perform criminal acts. Maybe this guy deserves a medal for not listening to the voices.
To: Abathar
Yep, gotta practice on dogs first.

all together now...
the chair! the CHAIR!
And seriously...9 years is not too long when the guy is obviously mentally disturbed and dangerously violent. Just because Andrea Yates got the wrong sentence doesn't mean this guy should too, and it's really nothing to do with dogs or women, IMHO!

If only that crazy Ohio judge Edward Connor would give a sentence like that to repeat child rapists. But no, Connor gives them a pass instead.

It does seem a bit extreme of a sentence - actually, I'm not sure why he got jail at all. Definitely some kind of punishment, but jail?

And those who say "Of course if this had been a (fill in the blank, baby killer/murderer/child molester) he'd have got off scott-free! We get those on every thread too.
Heh... Everyone is predictable.
To: the OlLine Rebel
Lucky for the perp, he did not make the mistake of trying to stab the two-headed shepherd....

As are the animal haters. ;~D Do not include me on that list by implication. My comments in no way reflect a "hate" for animals, but just a more realistic placement on the value of a human life over that of a dog.
Does the guy deserve to be punished? YES
Does he deserve more time then someone who has committed a crime against a human? NO
Perspective, not hate.
Whenever this type of discussion comes up I am always mindful of the Xiana Fairchild case here in the bay area. A young girl was missing and a $10,000 reward was offered for info. At the same time, some jerk threw a dog (a breed similar in appearance to a poodle) into freeway traffic, the reward for this jerk was $25,000.
Perspective please. Animal lovers were more worked up over a dog then a little girl.
