News is available 24/7 on all news channels and the internet. Why bother with network losers.

thx. I haven't quite learned how to do that yet, lol...
The only people who watch network news now are those who didn't bother to change the channel after the local news, weather, sports and lottery numbers.
Anything on newsprint or on the evening news is normally old news....why wait?
How does he know? Has Fox ever tried "news" after 5 ?

Network news, as we have known it for 50 years, has always been a loss leader. The ads they sold never could pay the freight. Their salaries and overhead were paid from extra profit from the entertainment divisions. But they always had enough political clout to keep their jobs and power.
As nets lose more and more advertising, the pinch on news divisions will increase. At some point, the nets will be in survival mode and NO ONE will be kept who doesn't pay his way. It will be strictly a business decision...

Well, they're giving it the old college try by moving the MORNING people (gibson, perkykatie) to the night side. Thing is, many of the people now growing up will trend to the cablecasts.
There was a theory/speculation that Shepard Smith of Fox News was going to go broadcast.
At any rate, the networks are dinosaurs in the news business. The only thing holding them up right now is their distribution ability. If they didn't have 200+ outlets across the country, I don't think any of the big three network news divisions would survive.
Many of us predicted that the 2004 election might be the last major election where the evening/nightly Lies/Spins/Pseudo News would have an impact on National Elections.
At least its still live. By the time I get home and flip on the tube, its halfway through the reruns and I depend entirely on the internet.
Some days when things are happening quick I get angry enought to want to hurl the TV out the window because I can't get anything new.
I watch Brit Hume, then during storm season I go local for the weather. (Our local weather critters do much better than TWC, etc., and keep a closer eye on things when tornados break out.)

That is exactly what I do. After Brit I surf Free Republic and am more up to date than if I watched CBS 24-7.
If you are talking about Fox broadcast channels, our channel has 9pm news every day, and 5pm & 9pm on the weekends.
