Well, they're giving it the old college try by moving the MORNING people (gibson, perkykatie) to the night side. Thing is, many of the people now growing up will trend to the cablecasts.
There was a theory/speculation that Shepard Smith of Fox News was going to go broadcast.
At any rate, the networks are dinosaurs in the news business. The only thing holding them up right now is their distribution ability. If they didn't have 200+ outlets across the country, I don't think any of the big three network news divisions would survive.
I watch Brit Hume, then during storm season I go local for the weather. (Our local weather critters do much better than TWC, etc., and keep a closer eye on things when tornados break out.)
