An apparent discrepancy in the portrayal of events surrounding the deaths of four unarmed U.N. observers in Lebanon threatens to unravel Secretary-General Annan's initial accusation that Israel "deliberately" targeted the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon.
A Canadian U.N. observer, one of four killed at a UNIFIL position near the southern Lebanese town of Khiyam on Tuesday, sent an e-mail to his former commander, a Canadian retired major-general, Lewis MacKenzie, in which he wrote that Hezbollah fighters were "all over" the U.N. position, Mr. MacKenzie said. Hezbollah troops, not the United Nations, were Israel's target, the deceased observer wrote.

You must know that He have no choice. If he point to that terrorist, his house will burn and wife/daughter will be rape. If he point to that Israel, Israel only say defend themselve without harm Him or His family. Anybody dare to pin-point at Muslim and I am sure that person already gone. So, Israel accept the blame. Heard Israel loss a lot of soldier. Super sad but they gain a lot of land...so strange!!!
Well said! IMO it wasn't negligence on the part of the people in charge at the UN, it was INTENT.
They had two ways to win on this one: 1) living shields for the UN's usual terrorist allies or 2) if Israel had the courage to continue killing terrorists (UN allies), screech about evil Israel deliberately targeting UN "observers".
Thank God for those emails from Kofi's victims. Kind of made the whole thing blow up in Kofi's terrorist face.
And I won't hold my breath while I wait for Chuckie Schumer and Hillary Clinton to call Annan on it.
A U.N. employee used U.N. diplomatic pouches to smuggle illegal drugs as part of a ring that brought 25 tons of contraband into New York in the past year and a half, federal prosecutors and the FBI said yesterday.
Little Cog. Big Wheel. Either that, or those are some mighty big pouches. :)
No link, but it may have been in one of the daily live threads. I just remember seeing it on here.
Yeah..... there is a reason why hezbollah let that UN post be there for all those years.

I think the world knows that Hezbollah attacked Israel and kidnapped two soldiers........and that Israel is retaliating. I think the observers can just watch the news from home and know that is still going on. Since their "mission" is just to observe it would be safer from an armchair at home than in the middle of the war. Get them out of harm's way for heaven's sake.

Two meters?? Like six feet??
And thus, the reason why U.S. troops should NEVER be allowed to operate under UN command.
100% correct. No more US troupes doing anything for the UN. Also, cut funding for this piece of crap called the UN. United, all right. With all the terrorist supporting Countries of the world, not to mention the constant crap called mandate for peace from Russia and China.
I didn't think that when I asked "will the liberals wait for facts" I needed to add a "sarc" tag. I mean, it's like asking if night will be dark.
