Dean calls Iraqi PM an 'anti-Semite'

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday called Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an "anti-Semite" for failing to denounce Hezbollah for its attacks against Israel.

Al-Maliki has condemned Israel's offensive, prompting several Democrats to boycott his address to a joint meeting of Congress and others to criticize him. Dean's comments were the strongest to date.

"The Iraqi prime minister is an anti-Semite," the Democratic leader told a gathering of business leaders in Florida. "We don't need to spend $200 and $300 and $500 billion dollars bringing democracy to Iraq to turn it over to people who believe that Israel doesn't have a right to defend itself and who refuse to condemn Hezbollah."

Dean is desperate and stupid.

Jewish focus groups have told the dems they are treading on dangerous water with their ownership by the kooks at Daily Kos etc.

But notice how carefully chosen Dean's target is. It's an Iraqi official, someone the Daily Kos (and, to be sure, most establishment dems) regard as a bad guy because he might have something to do with W succeeding in Iraq. We will know that the situation is critical (and Dean's concern genuine) when Dean calls Kofi Annan an anti-semite for doing far more than the Iraqi official has done.

Dean reminds me SO much of the playground pain in the ass -- whose behavior simply demanded that someone go over and beat his ass on a regular schedule....

Dean is long overdue for a dose of serious ass kicking......

If Dueling were legal -- these assholes would more carefully consider their behavior...

An armed and Dueling society, is a polite society..

''When is Dean going to call Kofi the anti-Semite he is.?''...............I was just thinking the same thing. The RAT party bows at the feet of the UN who is by and large always condemning Israel for defending itself. RAT party = ''HUGE''Hypocrites!'' Sorry, I meant ''hypocRATS''!

What I love about the Rat party is it has insane Doctors alongside equally insane and fanatical ambulance chasers. Just what do Dean and Edwards talk about anyway when they meet? Do they in fact talk? Do they cause some sort of Rat anti-matter when they meet?

Dean is incredibly irresponsible because he can afford to be. They've got nothing to lose anymore. This is a very desperate party doing everything humanly possible to undermine this entire effort.

They're reactionary, bomb-throwing idiots and we haven't even seen their best yet.

Dean's an ass but he's right.

No, he's not, actually.

Dean is advocating that we simply take over Iraq and dictate who can run the place--and of course if we did that he would call whoever that was a puppet.

He has been comspicuously low-key since the recent war in Israel/Lebanon began, and now he seizes the spotlight to call the Iraqi leader an anti-semite, but he doesn't give a goddamn whether he is or isn't--he is merely trying to discredit ALL of our Iraq policy. Please show me the Iraq leader who could support Israel without breaking his country into even worse chaos (outside of Baghdad) than it is already in.

No, Dean is not right. He MAY be "factually correct" about this guy's position, but he isn't right, and Bush DOES get it; he can't simply pick someone who could win an electoin in the US to run Iraq. It doesn't work that way. Many folks can be excused for not appreciating that, but Dean should know better. He DOES know better, but he doesn't care--he only wants to bloody Bush and discredit his efforts, and he doesn't give a hoot in hell who gets killed or how the US is discredited by his inflammatory words.

You're confuesed, because Democrats aren't consistent on anything. All they do is take positions that are contradictory of President Bush. That's it.

Losers.

the PM of Iraq does not care what Mr. Dean thinks...

Many people in that region do not like the Jewish People, that is why we have problems with them, duh,
