WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday called Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an "anti-Semite" for failing to denounce Hezbollah for its attacks against Israel.

Al-Maliki has condemned Israel's offensive, prompting several Democrats to boycott his address to a joint meeting of Congress and others to criticize him. Dean's comments were the strongest to date.

"The Iraqi prime minister is an anti-Semite," the Democratic leader told a gathering of business leaders in Florida. "We don't need to spend $200 and $300 and $500 billion dollars bringing democracy to Iraq to turn it over to people who believe that Israel doesn't have a right to defend itself and who refuse to condemn Hezbollah."

This from the man who once said, "What happened on September 11 is mostly a product of the enormous disparity between those who have everything those who have nothing.” Howard Dean has also said that "there is a war going on in the Middle East, and members of Hamas are soldiers in that war.”

Utter hypocrisy is coming from RATS with their attacks on Prime Minister Miliki. Democrats are on the side of the terrorists in Iraq, not on the side of the American and Iraqi troops.

do you have links to those quotes???

Hannity talked about this today then read quotes from a New Yorker magazine piece on Dean during the '04 primary campaign- evidently the Dean family belongs to some "club" or "society" which does not allow Jews or blacks in...and makes no apologies about it...

the article went on to say Heil Howard was peeved as he was never elected president of the club as his father was....

Dean has not denounced Lieberman's opponent in CN, does that make Dean an anti-Semite?

Same reason as he has for his comments. They like demagogues. And the Left calls the shots.

Why did they make him party boss, anyway?

They thought that Deaniacs on the internet would be a new source of fundraising for the DNC.

..prompting several Democrats to boycott his address to a joint meeting of Congress ..

An absolute positive, IMHO!

I wish they all would boycott.

I liked Rush's point on this: on a typical day, most of the Democratic party wouldn't denounce Hezbollah either.

I agree, but consistency is never been a requirement for a Liberal. Hypocrisy is their modus operandi.

Old media will spike this story (or at least try to), just like the refuse to identify Code PInko gal as the disrupter in today's Maliki speech. The democrats yet again have crossed the line. Screaming Dean is the best thing to happen to republicans. He is one sick puppy.

BTW: Have any democrats denounced his comments yet?

This also from the man who, when campaigning in 2004, held rallies where the Palestinian flags in the audiences far outnumbered the American flags.

This same man also provided a closed circuit TV feed of John Conyers' phony "committee hearings" in the Capitol basement to DNC Headquarters, and then allowed Islamic groups to pass out anti-Semitic literature to the audience.

He's got a lot of friggin' nerve calling Maliki an anti-Semite!
