Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - An international celebration of homosexuality will take place as scheduled in Jerusalem next month, but organizers of the WorldPride event now say they've postponed a planned LGBT parade through the streets of Jerusalem.
A WorldPride organizer said Jerusalem police had informed his group that with Israel fighting a war on two fronts and the security situation very tense, police could not provide a safe environment for the march.
"Therefore, we feel it would be neither responsible nor appropriate to hold the march until such time that circumstances allow for a safe and peaceful gathering for all," said Hagai El-Ad, executive director of Jerusalem Open House, a local homosexual advocacy group.

There is nothing so evil tha some good may not come of it. This one event has brought together Christians, Jews and Muslims together as nothing else could.

Hmmm...so are you saying that the gay parade is a good thing or that it is not? Those double negatives confuse the issue, but it appears that you support the concept of multi religious gaydom.

First the parade got chased out of NOLA by Katrina. They next reschedule for Florida and got blown out by another hurricane. Not they want to go desecrate Jerusalem and get sent packing buy war. I would say they don't have any options but to give up. Beirut is not a bad idea.

I guess when they hear air raid sirens, it would be hard for the queens to run in high heels to the nearest shelter....

Why did they plan a gay parade over there??From what I understand, they'd all ready had one in Vatican city. They are equal opportunity offenders.

Hey, I've got a great idea!! They don't have to cancel the parade, they should just move it to the Shiite neighborhood of Beirut. The weather's lovely this time of year and it would be a much needed boost for tourism. Plus, you can be sure that the locals will react very strongly to welcome the adorable crowd. /s

Vatican City!! Or was it Rome? Geez, if the former, I need to barf. Even as an Orthodox Jew, I am disgusted that such a place would be subjected to such an insult.
Just imagine the tolerant reaction at Mecca!

One thing you can say about them homosexuals. They won't allow a little hurricane, flooding, and war stand in the way of their plans, not to mention death. They've got their priorities in order ( I'm assuming everyone knows I'm being sardonic ).
