THE first men to walk on the Moon reported seeing a UFO, a new TV documentary reveals.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong, says space agency bosses covered up their sighting.
And the Apollo 11 astronauts were also careful not to talk about it openly.
He said: "There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be?
"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?
"Can you tell us what it is?'

"We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."
The documentary, tonight on Five, also reveals that the astronauts had to repair the lunar module with a ballpoint pen after the historic landing in July 1969.
In the cramped conditions, someone's bulky spacesuit had snapped off a circuit breaker essential for starting up the engine.
To this day, Aldrin treasures the everyday object that saved their lives.
He said: "I used a pen, one of several that we had on board that didn't have metal on the end, and we used that to push the circuit breaker in."
The programme also draws on classified documents made public for the first time.
I suspect a Weather Balloon.
I'm sure they say lots of "unidentified" things. Being "unidentified" doesn't mean anyone suspected them of being created by other life forms, it simply means "unidentified". Heck, my fridge is sometimes full of "unidentified objects".
Oh, I remember that trick! Also, spraying Engine Starting Fluid down the throat on a cold morning.
Been looking at some NASA video over the past several weeks .... I'm cornvinced there's something to this.
In late July-Early Aug. in 1970, or 71 I think it was. The touchdown on the moon was still broadcast live. Just after touchdown the Astro. was saying I have a "bogy' at 9 O'Clock, I have a Bogy at 2 O'clock. this went on thru several "bogys" and was never commented on from then on. The guy was clearly excited and probably overlooked/forgot it was live. Anyone remember this. I heard it live on the car radio. (Bogy does not mean moonrock.)
I got to be quite good at whipping up (pun intended) a tasty batch of mashed 'taters .. real AND flaked.
How Are You Gentleman.
Where was Sally?
Nah, if you take a picture on the moon you'll see stars, just like here. The sky on the moon in the daytime is black instead of blue because there's no atmosphere.
"I'd be amazed if the first people who ever set foot on an extraterrestrial body didn't see at least one of those."
And of course, there'd be no weird chance of a halo or reflection from a curved faceplate.
"Buzz" may be more than a nickname, if ya know what I mean ...
Jeez, wouldn't Listerine have been better tsating?
Anybody can make the taters, Pilgrim, but kin'ya make the graaavy?
Doing fine, thank you. Late for a meeting right now, though. I'll be back later... Have a great afternoon.
Those didn't show up on the moon until 7 years ago.
Show me a picture taken by the astronauts that shows stars in the background.
