The documents seized in the FBI raid on the offices of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) remain unread by Justice Department investigators, pending a federal Appeals Court ruling scheduled for August 27. [snip] But we already know a bit about the charges and some of the alleged partners of Congressman Jefferson. Two people have pleaded guilty to bribing him.

I was vacationing in Detroit last week and missed that tidbit... I'd love to see a link. I'll finish my drink now so I don't spew all over my keyboard as I laugh and read. ;-)
Thanks,

When did they drop the lawsuit? They just filed it. I heard they got a Judge who they wouldn't be happy with, and there was specualtion that they would drop the suit and then refile to get a different Judge.
I truly hope so. What a treasure trove this Jefferson criminal may turn out to be. Wonder if he'll turn over for a sweet deal from Justice? I hope he has an Arkancide rider on his insurance policy. They won't wait in suspense if they think he roll over. He'll get whacked if there is even an inkling of doubt the Jefferson can betray Omerta.
I am aware they ran some stuff about drawing an unsympathetic judge. I apologize for not being able to source the dropping of the suit. I know I saw it-just don't remember where.
I don't think dropping the suit got as much air and print as filing it did...
Fedora - you're posts are shown in one of the FR links in this article.
Ravingnutter - I know that you too were onto this for quite some time.
"Interesting that they* dropped their lawsuit against Cheney et al almost immediately--wonder whether they were tipped off by Jefferson to lay low because some real damaging dirt could be obtained (on them all-Wilson, Plame, and Jefferson) via discovery motions targeting the Congressman's (for now) sealed files."
*They being Plame/Wilson.
Well, that is the best kept secret by the MSM of this year.

Includes Jefferson, Wilson and of course, the ever-slimy Jesse Jackson.

I have seen anything about the case being dropped. Was there a story on it here?
Thanks for the ping to this, eyespy. I've saved those other two web sites too; looks like they are doing great work as well as freepers doing their usual excellent research.
Gosh Joe, say it ain't so ! What a P.O.S. he is anyway.
Time will tell. Hope springs eternal he gets his due...
This is the first I have heard about it. I had no idea that the lawsuit was dropped.
Indeed I am unsure Joe and Valerie were up for planning this by their lonesome. Which Clintanoid might have been AWOL and potentially at the heart of this whole scheme? That is one reason I like to keep track of the little buggers.

Just spent some time wandering around google with various key words. Even downloaded the actual papers from Findlaw. I couldn't find any references to the case being dropped.
I'm considering it still on-going until someone finds some solid reporting on it.
Thanks,
Pinz
I don't see anywhere that the lawsuit has been dropped.
Ira Magaziner was the health care bozo.
Un freaking real. I did not know you could assemble so many losers in one place at one time. The presence of Alexis Herman, William Jefferson and Jesse Jackson pretty much assurd that payola, graft and shakedowns were the watchwords of the day. The Congressional representation is stunning commie red and/or merely incompetent.
Eric Rubins!! Could he be a helper in some of this.
