Diana Irey: Conservative American for Congress
By Chris Davis
Jul 24, 2006
Make no mistake. Conservatism will save America. Conservatism will be the bedrock upon which all Americans can place their inevitable gratitude. It is conservatism that will preserve an enduring moral order and everlasting prosperity for the United States of America.
Those indelible qualities have been incorporated into America's soul from our Founding Fathers. They sought a Republic as moral, as just and divine as any in the world. They sought an America full of hope and inspiration for all of mankind. And they founded a country bathed in God's wisdom, dedicated to liberty and based in economic prosperity, setting a shining example for those that choose to follow. In our forefathers' wisdom, they handed down an America that should be cherished and celebrated with every waking moment.
Conservatives are the brightest hope of America's future. They are not ignorant, violent or racist. They believe in equality for all men and women, yet know that it cannot extend to a great social experiment. It is the sense of respect and duty that leads American conservatives to believe God ordained the inalienable right of freedom to all mankind; that America is a beacon in the darkness.
And it is that sense of respect and duty that leads Diana Irey to run for U.S. Congress, in Pennsylvania's 12th District, encompassing a large area to east and south of Pittsburgh. Ms. Irey is a conservative. Not because she is running against markedly liberal, John Murtha, but largely because she runs on those principles upon which conservatives hold dear.
In 1995, she ran as Washington county commissioner, at the urging of leading Republican Party members. She had no experience, but her sense of community service led her to the race. Having a sense of pride in her community, she exhibited those conservative values without voting for one single tax increase, as well as spurring the growth of business in Washington County.
Diana Irey believes that America is worth driving, worth protecting and worth all she can give. She believes in legal immigration and border protection, and isn't afraid to tackle the issue as an American.
"Illegal immigration is a huge problem," Ms. Irey explains, in an interview with E.L. Core. "It needs to stop. We need to secure our borders, first and foremost. We need to do something to deal with all the people that are here. And it drives me crazy when I hear that we've captured illegals and then we let them go."
As a conservative candidate, she isn't in favor of amnesty either. She is willing to speak up on behalf of thousands of frustrated Pennsylvanians and Americans, and she is willing to carry that position to the U.S. House of Representatives.
In her E.L. Core interview, she states, "I don't think it is a good idea. Amnesty violates our rule of law. And if we say it's okay for them to violate our rule of law now, what's to say they're going to have any respect for any other laws we have, in the future? And if we allow them to violate the rule of law, how does the fellow who couldn't pay his taxes and lost his home because he couldn't pay his property taxes how's he going to feel? What does that say to that person? And what does it say to the person who's going five miles over the speed limit and gets stopped and gets a ticket? I think we have to be very careful how we deal with this situation. The bottom line is they've broken the law."
The values sharedbeginning in 1776have been passed down from father to son and mother to daughter for generations. Every generation faced its own unique challenges, beginning with the New Deal and its proponents. American conservatives believe, however, "The Great Society" was the beginning of the downfall of personal responsibility, ushering in an era of social programs to the bane of American taxpayers. They know that no truly great society can survive by basing its foundation on wealth redistribution. They know the Founding Fathers created the Constitutionthe greatest conservative document in World Historyestablishing a free economy and placing the aspirations of a young country on the individuals that drive it. That generation of Americans carved out the beginnings of the finest nation on Earth. They were difference makers, forging traditions in morality, divine justice and a belief in the rule of law that governs the conduct of the people.
Diana Irey is no different. She is willing to protect the Pledge of Allegiance. She is willing to support the Second Amendment. She is willing to vote no on gay "marriage." She is willing to provide a lasting set of moral values for Pennsylvanians and for Americans. Jack Murtha was unwilling to support those values cherished by so many of his constituents.
As Russell Kirk once wrote, "Conservatives understand that men and women are best content when they can feel that they live in a stable world of enduring values. Most conservatives are neither rich nor powerful. But they do, even the most humble of them, derive great benefits from our established Republic. They have liberty, security of person and home, equal protection of the laws, the right to the fruits of their industry, and opportunity to do the best that is in them."
Ms. Irey is also willing to take the fight to those that would harm us. With her conservative principles, she places her support behind those that would wear the uniform of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. She longs to see the mission in Iraq complete for the sake of liberty and for the protection of the citizens of Pennsylvania and the United States.
She has seen veterans from across Pennsylvania and America rally to her side, and has even been the beneficiary of campaign contributions and good wishes from soldiers deployed to battlefields in Iraq.
Conservative values are passed down to ensure the right direction of this Republic. There can be no vitality rooted in liberalism. So the difference makers, such as Diana Irey, emerge at the ready, preserving enduring moral values, conservatism, and breeding a good culture.
Men and women that express conservative thought convey the sentiment of the majority of Americansthe people rallying under every exigency, for love of country, love of mankind and love of God. These Americans, the difference makers, believe in the United States, promoting the growth of conservatism through the Internet, talk radio, television and in the U.S. Congress. Now, they exist in all forms, propagating the belief that conservatism will save America.
Diana Irey believes in Pennsylvania. She believes that propagating those conservative values will lead to a better Pennsylvania and better America. She has emerged at the ready to carry those values and that fight to the U.S. Congress. She runs for the conservative cause and all that support it. She runs for Pennsylvania and a better America. And she runs to preserve the greatest of unions: The United States of America. With your support, come November, Diana Irey can transition from Pennsylvanian to American difference maker.

I did not want to steal your thunder. ;*)
Mrs. Irey is not a feminist. She is very happily married to Mr. Irey, aka Bob. There is NO need to refer to her as MS. as she is very proud of being MRS. Irey.
This ad paid for by Robert Irey - husband of the very competent Diana. ;*) j/k
Yay! I was worried there for a minute! :D
She's also a lovely, lovely lady. Married, yes (so am I) but it doesn't mean I can't admire how lovely she is.
Nahh, I prefer to "visualize" a thread before posting.
I understand how you can feel that way -- I come from the land of the Carnahan legacy and Dick Gephardt. Thank God big Dick retired. Sometimes it feels like we'll never win. But that's no excuse for not giving it our all. And who knows? Maybe we can send Murtha to the same retirement place that welcomed Daschle! No one thought he could lose either. Never give up.
No! No!! No!!!

Bumping the bump.
Not to worry. I just have to do a couple of serious pieces first. And then let the games begin.
:-)
Unlike Mrs. Athans (a.k.a. Sen. Debbie Stabenow).
LOL! She couldn't be called Sen. Stab-me-now if she went by her married name. ;*)
Nicely done Chris!
Really hard to spin away his comments about Marines being guilty of cold-blooded murder and trying to cover it up.
pong! welcome home.
ROTF BUMP!

Very good! You should write for politicians all the time, but then we would miss your humor. ;)
