The election returns from here are going to be wild tomorrow, folks. Keep a close eye on this race in the 5th Congressional District (the candidates are running to replace Ernest Istook, who is running for Governor). The Club for Growth supports Calvey (although they mention that all the candidates are decent). Cornett is extremely popular (he was re-elected with over 80 percent of the vote in OKC recently and the 5th CD is OKC-heavy). Fallin is also popular and she is definitely the (very slight) frontrunner.

The one thing that bugs me about Mayor Cornett is how quickly he is attempting to abandon his job only months after his reelection. OK has only elected a woman (a Republican) to Congress once, and that was last in 1920, Alice Mary Robertson.

That's why I'm leaning towards Mary Fallin (but not the wacky Denise Bode).

I notice you called Denise Bode wacky. I've heard a lot of commentators say things to that effect. What has she done to gain that reputation? (I don't know much about her)
