Poll: 66% of Brits Think Israeli Reponse ´Exaggerated´ 13:37 Jul 25, '06 / 29 Tammuz 5766 (IsraelNN.com) A poll carried out by the British Guardian newspaper finds 66 percent of British citizens believe Israel's military response to the kidnapping of two soldiers and shelling of half of its population is "exaggerated and disproportionate." Just 22 percent of the 1,001 people polled said Israel's response is proportionate and 33 percent agreed with the British government's decision not to condemn Israel's reponse. ----------------
Where is MadIvan these days? He needs to explain a few things to his compatriots. (Note though that the poll was carried out and published by those b*****s at the Guardian - Fantastic that more than 10% sided with Israel.)

Exactly. Our Navy really hasn't been called into the fight, save its air arm. Taking possession of these tankers, and Karg Island itself, is doable. The Navy would probably look favorably on such a challenge. Then we could make like Hugo Chavez, and give away the captured oil to the poor, or better yet, Israel!

03:52 PDT An excerpt from the Nasrallah interview on Al-Jazeera TV:
http://memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=SD121106
Hassan Nasrallah: I told them that we must resolve the issue of the prisoners, and that the only way to resolve it is by abducting Israeli soldiers.
Interviewer: Did you say this clearly?
Hassan Nasrallah: Yes, and nobody said to me: No, you are not allowed to abduct Israeli soldiers.

Where is MadIvan these days? He needs to explain a few things to his compatriots. I saw a post of his awhile ago. Seems he had had enough of some people here bashing England, so he's 'signed off', so to speak. Ashame...I really liked his posts and perspective.

Oh no!
I agree his posts were always worth reading.
Pity!

" I think their coverage has been good. Shep must have gotten the emails because he has toned down the histrionics."
He should tone it down before he gets an offer to star in the redux of La Cage.
Their weekend coverage has been awful, but I agree with you to an extent- there have been some bright spots.

MadIvan left us on the 13th of June...after a flame war with Freepers like Sabramerican. I'm sorry to hear that. I enjoyed Mad Ivan. It's a shame we have some FReepers with "issues" on here whose only objectives seem to be to make everyone else as miserable as they are.
I hope Ivan will return eventually.

From Fox website: "U.S. Secretary of State is scheduled to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today as part of diplomatic mission to resolve armed conflict between Israel, Hezbollah and Hamas"
Rice needs to tell Abbas that the Pali's need to destroy Hamas or the US will give Israel "permission" to "clear cut" Gaza and the West Bank.

Ivan was a bellweather I used to see how things were going in England....shame he is gone.
Maybe people here need to realize that screename you are flaming is a living breathing person who has feelings also.
Ivan was a Freeper in good standing....he didn't deserve to be run off by someone who couldn't see past the politics.
