Death Row inmate Richard Allen Davis, who kidnapped and murdered 12-year-old Polly Klaas in Petaluma in 1993, was found unconscious in his San Quentin Prison cell Sunday night and rushed to the hospital, authorities said today.
Davis, whose crime is largely responsible for California's three strikes law, overdosed on opiates, according to prison spokesman Vernell Crittendon. It was not clear Monday whether it was a suicide attempt or an accidental overdose.
The drugs are believed to have been obtained from an outside source, probably during visiting hours, Crittendon said. Prisoners, he said, "are still allowed to visit with their loved ones."
Doctors revived Davis, who Crittendon said was back in his prison cell Monday "doing fine."

If they can't keep illegal drugs off death row, why are we even bothering with the WOD?

"Davis, whose crime is largely responsible for California's three strikes law" That is factually incorrect. The three strikes law came about because of the murder of Kimber Reynolds, daughter of Mike Reynolds. It started in Fresno, like FreeRepublic.

You're almost right. The 3 strikes ball was already rolling, but Polly Klaus was gasoline thrown onto the fire. Three strikes probably would have become law anyway, but the Polly Klaus kidnap and murder made it a no-brainer.

I'm not almost right, I'm completely right. It would have passed without the Klaas case, bank on it.

"The drugs are believed to have been obtained from an outside source, probably during visiting hours, Crittendon said. Prisoners, he said, 'are still allowed to visit with their loved ones.'"
Having worked in two prisons in Tennessee and Colorado I can attest that about 80 percent of contraband entering prisons is smuggled in by prison staff.

I will never forget this garbage reading his statement to the court. With Mark Klaus sitting there in the courtroom he said, "She begged me, Please don't do me the way my Daddy does," implying her father sexually abused her. He's sick!
To: SmithL
Revive him and throw him down a staircase..about 100 times. Repeat until room temperature is achieved..
