TAMPA - Congresswoman Katherine Harris, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, received positive results from a biopsy taken during last week's surgery to remove an ovarian mass.
The Attending Physicians office contacted Harris on Monday to inform her that the mass was benign and that no further tests are required.
"I appreciate all the kind words and prayers leading up to the surgery and throughout my recovery," Harris said in a statement. "Thankfully, I had a good surgeon and a great God."

Wouldn't this title be better to read: Katherine Harris Gets Good Results. Positive sounds like it was positive for cancer. Just MHO

Sounds to me like she got negative results, which was a positive thing.
To: Chuck54
That's the first thing I thought. In medical-ese, she got a negative result.
Praise God the mass was benign.
As the husband of a cancer conqueror, I'm always happy to hear when these things are benign.

I just posted the headline that was in the newspaper.
I took 'positive' to mean 'good news' but I agree it might be misinterpreted.
I'll ask the Mod to add (No cancer found) next to the headline.

My thought as well. I thought maybe it was a pap test or something.

Fantastic! Ovarian cancer is a very tough disease. I am very glad she won't endure that nightmare.

I believe the headline should read "Katherine Harris Gets
Negative Results".
Ditto the phrase "received positive results from a biopsy" - should read "negative", i.e. benign, non-malignant.
Just my opinion.

The headline may have been clearer as:
Harris gets positive news!
And as the wife of a cancer survivor I know exactly how you feel.

Excellent news! Harris is getting stronger, she's receiving more good news coverage.
To: Lexinom
Yes...i agree but I posted the exact headline as we are instructed to doto do....
The Mod has added (No Cancer Found) so the confusion is over.
