NEWSWEEK ARTICLE [. . . an almost 'snark' free article from Newsweek -- is hell freezing over?!] . . .
BACKSTAGE AT THE CRISIS
As the world's leaders gathered, the Middle East burst into flames. How President Bush handled the biggest foreign challenge of his second term. A NEWSWEEK exclusive.
By Richard Wolffe
Newsweek
July 31, 2006 issue - The forward suite aboard Air Force One is a hushed and dimly lit space, a private sanctuary where the president can sleep, exercise and lead the free world from 30,000 feet. At the start of an eight-hour flight en route to Germany and a world summit in Russia, President Bush is deep inside his own head as he paces up and down the long hallway that leads from his study to his conference room. While Washington was sleeping the night before, yet another corner of the Middle East had erupted into violence, after Hizbullah launched a deadly ambush on an Israeli patrol. The summit, which was supposed to focus on Iran's nukes and Russia's democracy, had just been hijacked by the war on terror.

Just in case you missed another excellent article from Fred Barnes:
LETTING ISRAEL BE ISRAEL
Bush's consistent approach to war and peace in the Middle East.
by Fred Barnes
07/31/2006, Volume 011, Issue 43
NO ONE should have been surprised by President Bush's let-Israel-fight policy in the current Middle East conflict. Bush is consistent. The essentials of his approach to Israel and its enemies were adopted four years ago when the president ostracized then-Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and called for democracy and reform in the Arab countries. Bush's policy is pro-Israel in that it is based on his belief that Israel wants peace with its neighbors, but some of them don't want peace with Israel. So Israel stands on higher moral ground.

Toasterville 4 u!
Nice Dose snugs. Always a treat to see the President with the troops and new Americans to boot.
Great news about the Flag bill. It always astonishes me to read about associations that get so drunk on their "power" that they feel they can abridge such a fundamental right, as to fly our own flag. Of course, I've also not understood why people even choose to live in such places that allow these little tin dictators to have such an impact on their daily lives. Rant over!
mystery's homepage is a veritable treasure trove of lovely toasters. :)
God BLESS our troops!
(And thanks for the DOSE!)
She's got a king-sized bed in that plane she travels on. Its not as though she spent the night in a coach seat, trying to get in 40 winks.
(And I can't save it from there!!)
They DO like to be close, don't they? Ain't love grand?? :)
I have about 40 but some of them are the same design but just a slightly different colour.
LOL..I have to feed the troops you know...see, aren't you glad you didn't give it to me...hehehe......I don't try for the toasters, if the opportunity arises I take it!...
My pleasure not that many photos today of the President but the ones at Walter Reed were very moving.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Is there anyway you can post what the "George and Laura: Nice" was about? A link or something please?
I feel your pain, Ohio! I tried saving it too. They are one awesome couple!!
