Intro to 'Conservative' Carlson's Show Casts Israel as Bully

I thought Tucker Carlson was supposed to be MSNBC's conservative counterweight to Olbermann, Matthews, & Co. Perhaps I better think again, judging by the opening roll of his 'Tucker' show this afternoon. Here's how it went:

Open to video of an Israeli tank firing rounds, as an off-screen voice breathlessly announces "Lebanon, under siege" as the scene changes to smoke rising from an urban Lebanese landscape.

Cut to a Lebanese couple, with the woman informing us that "our house is bombed, everything is bombed." Cut to what looks like a mosque in ruins. Announcer: "Israel's attack on Hezbollah marches on, and so does the devastating toll on civilian life."

Cut to woman in Muslim head shawl comforting distraught young boy with kiss on head.

Cut to clip of blond expert-looking man with impressive Euro accent: "One-third or more of the wounded and the dead are children." More footage of urban destruction in Lebanon. Announcer continues "But a quick resolution to this ever-worsening crisis is nowhere in sight. ."

Cut to outraged Lebanese man-in-the-street: "Why America helping Is-ra-el and leaving us?"

Announcer: "Today the world watches and wonders, can shuttle diplomacy end the death and destruction?" Video rolls of Arab women gesticulating from a balcony.

Finally, at very end of intro, some indication that the violence is not entirely one-sided, as we see a coffin draped with an Israeli flag and a clip of White House chief-of-staff Josh Bolten saying "cease-fire is sustainable only if we get at the root problem which is Hezbollah."

When the announcer ended the intro by intoning "Now from Limasol, Cyprus, Tucker Carlson," the stage had been set: yes, the Bush administration might be condemning Hezbollah, but on the ground, it's the Israelis who are inflicting the suffering.

Hey, so long as MSNBC is in the market for a conservative, why not give Tucker's hour to Pat Buchanan? He'll give an even more 'fair & balanced' take on Israel's aggression!

Tucker has always been like David Gergen. A token that leftist shows can use to pretend they are balanced. Both of them can be counted on to be weak sisters on almost every issue. And Tucker is such a twit with his bow tie--he makes conservatives look bad just by having his picture taken. Then, he opens his mouth . . .

Does anybody ever report on the civilian casualties and damage Israel is suffering? Rockets are landing in Israel day after day, in case the reporters haven't noticed.

Perhaps his bow tie is too tight and cutting of circulation to the brain.

Holy Cow! The ABC news is on with Charlie Gibson right now, and it seems to be a full blown Pro-Hezbollah anti-Israel propaganda broadcast. It could pass for Al-Jazeera, rather than a US news organization!

Just because the smallest guy on the beach is a master of self-defense, and kicks the @$$ of a group of thugs (and their molls) who are stupid enough to kick sand on him, it does not follow that HE is a bully.

When are American Jews going to wake up to the fact that the left in this country is their enemy?

Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man,
His enemies say he's on their land.
They got him outnumbered about a million to one,
He got no place to escape to, no place to run.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully just lives to survive,
He's criticized and condemned for being alive.
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin,
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land,
He's wandered the earth an exiled man.
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn,
He's always on trial for just being born.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized,
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize.
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad.
The bombs were meant for him.
He was supposed to feel bad.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim
That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him,
'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac.
He's the neighborhood bully.

He got no allies to really speak of.
What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love.
He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace,
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease.
Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly.
To hurt one they would weep.
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Every empire that's enslaved him is gone,
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon.
He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand,
In bed with nobody, under no one's command.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon,
No contract he signed was worth what it was written on.
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth,
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What's anybody indebted to him for?
Nothin', they say.
He just likes to cause war.
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed,
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers?
Does he pollute the moon and stars?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill,
Running out the clock, time standing still,
Neighborhood bully.

And ABC's web site has an Our Gal Pal Val story up, asking why hasn't anyone in the administration lost a security clearance over this? LOL. ABC, like the rest of the alphabets, are just another way to spell DNC.

When are American Jews going to wake up to the fact that the left in this country is their enemy?

IMO, this "crisis" has been a real watershed for many American Jews. Conservatives and Evangelicals are Israel's best friends.

I think the American Jewish community is getting the message.

"Lebanon, under siege"

Lebanon under seige? WTF?! If I recall correctly, it was Hizballah that was launching a rocket seige upon Israel. Oh wait, Israel is full of Jews...they deserve the rockets according to the MSM. It's all their fault--and GWB's too.

Tucker says: 'Don't just make your bathroom clean - make it Limasol clean!

In fairness, he said he expects to be in Beirut tomorrow.
