What are the facts about how advanced Libya's nuke program was, where did they get their equipment and expertise, where did they get their URANIUM, etc.???? Couldn't be that they got any uranium from the neighbor to their southeast, NIGER??

You know, it frustrates the heck out of me that nobody in the Bush Administration ever uses the Libya "success story" in its defense in the War on Terror. IF NOTHING ELSE, toppling Saddam Hussein and getting Libya to abandon its nuclear weapons program (and uncovering A.Q. Kahn's [sp?] nuclear trading network) justifies our efforts to date on the W.O.T. The other successes (Afghanistan, Lebanon's embrace of democracy, isolating the PLO, pulling Pakistan into at least some cooperation in the W.O.T.) are other important accomplishments -- but the risk is if America doesn't show the will to stay the course. One crummy successor to Bush and all this accomplishment (and the related sacrifice) can and probably will be squandered.

Why doesn't the Bush Administration make this case?????!

Rich Miniter claimed in his book "25 myths in the war on terror" that Libya was hosting Saddams nuclear program, with Iraqi scientist in Libya building nukes.

Ping! Gadaffi confirms that Libya's nuke program was very far along - he may be boasting to try to assert Libya's economic and technical prowess, but still I don't think he'd say this if it weren't substantially true and known to the US and UK (because otherwise it could ignite a new round of inquiries if the USA had thought his nuke program weren't so advanced).

So all the questions of how Libya obtained equipment, technology, expertise, and URANIUM still need to be explained in a lot more detail. Why won't the administration cite this more as a dramatic success story in the WOT??

Any mention that Libya was using Iraqi scientists in its nuclear weapon development program?

"The programs and equipment (to build a nuclear bomb) are known," he added.

Something those who wish to stop Iran and N Kor or any other country might reflect on.

It is true that Saddams nucelar program went to Libya in the mid 90's. Here is a March 2006 Powerline article on the topic:

ISSA [International Strategic Studies Association] has been saying for years that Saddam's nuclear program was primarily located in Libya. You might want to go to strategicstudies.org and check out the January 30, 2004 Iraqi war report. I'm having a hard time pulling up a link.
ISSA has written that they have better human intel in Libya than our own CIA. ISSA believed that as many as 20,000 Iraqis were in Libya working on WMD and missile development.

However, there were numerous failures to maintain the total secrecy of his actions at an operational intelligence level. This may have been inevitable, given the scope of the WMD programs being conducted in Libya, for example, where an estimated Iraqi workforce of up to 20,000 scientists, engineers and workers were engaged in WMD and missile development, and in other countries, such as Mauritania (intended as a launch site for ballistic missiles to threaten the US), where Iraqi intelligence officials were conducting aspects of the strategy.

If you research Libya's Nuclear assessment in the 90's on basically any site, it will mention an Iraq involvement. It was common knowledge. Obviously, it was no coinicidence that Libya gave up its WMD program as Saddam lost power, Libya losts its funding. It was made to appear as if Libya was scared by the US deposing Saddam and used him as an example for non-proliferation, but that wasnt the truth.
