Ian Card, 32, was in stable condition at King Edward VII Hospital in the British Island territory from a wound that his doctor said could have been fatal.

I saw that. I think it was on "101 Things found in the human body" or something. The fake booby was stuck through her back or something and the doctor said it probably saved her life because it kept the blood loss down (if I remember correctly.)

After shelling out for bait, fuel, provisions (beer) and the like, my catch averages out to about $ 275.00 per pound.

It was supposed to be Robert Shaw's exit from Jaws. The proprietor of the website had other plans

Another fish story. This guy got stabbed by an 800 pounder, it says. That's a big fish, doesn't really take an 800 pounder, a 250 pounder could do the job just as easily, IMO. I've even heard of sailfish stabbing guys, for that matter.

I had come real close fishing at Cabo years ago.

It came screaming across the transom and over the port side and didn't miss me by more than a foot.

I've seen several boats that have been speared by marlin. One was hit in the transom and the guy sanded it off and varnished it leaving it sticking through the transom.

Another one was speared from underneath in the garbard plank and almost sunk before he got back to the harbor.

I like the idea of fish that fight back

The one thqt came over the transom that almost got me wasn't hooked. It had been following the teaser and went nuts, charged the boat and came screaming out of the water full tilt!

The one I remember is the husband dragging the wife along, he catches, well, hooks a big one, and during
the fight, the fish catches air, lands on the wife, breaking both her legs.

Sandy Blue Marlin appeared today on Neptune News being interviewed about the one that got away, during the Annual Spearhuman contest.

Holy mackerel! It sounds like they didn't run with it long enough. I've never seen anyone just bring in a marlin right after it was hooked. Maybe there will be a follow up to this with more details.

Did you ever see the video where they are backing down
on a marlin and it comes over the transom?
Destroys every bit of tackle in the cockpit and broke someones arm I think. You can hear the captain screaming,
"Get that fish out of my boat!!!".
