Peace prize winner 'could kill' Bush Annabelle McDonald 25jul06

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.

Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush.

"I have a very hard time with this word 'non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64.

"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

"I don't know how I ever got a Nobel Peace Prize, because when I see children die the anger in me is just beyond belief. It's our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life."

Ms Williams was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 30 years ago, when she circulated a petition to end violence in Northern Ireland after witnessing British soldiers shoot dead an IRA member who was driving a car. He veered on to the footpath, killing two children from one family instantly and fatally injuring a third.

Ms Williams's petition had tens of thousands of Protestant and Catholic women walking the streets together in protest. Now the former office receptionist heads the World Centres of Compassion for Children International, a non-profit group working to create a political voice for children.

"My job is to tell you their stories," Ms Williams said of a recent trip to Iraq.

"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush."

I guess the merits for her peace prize do not include acting peacefully with people she disagrees with.

Betty Williams is the founder of World Centers of Compassion for Children International.

This their website: centersof compassion.org

The only email address I see listed is: bwccc@eircom.net

"bw" at the beginning of the address could be for Betty Williams. It might be worthwhile emailing them a few of these touching pictures of her beloved children dressed as terrorists and ready to kill infidels like her.

The Nobel Peace prize stopped being any meaningful indicatioon of reality decades ago.

Except, perhaps, for the ignorant, the clueless, the "progressives" and the sandmaggots...

Saddam gassing the Kurds. That includes the children pictured here.

I guess this woman is speechless at this, too.

The new standard for the Peace Prize seems to be that you must be psychotic.

""Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered. "

And

"NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday"

Is that what they call it?
"feisty Irish spirit"?
Thought it was plain old inciting to commit murder.
And filling the minds of impressionable school children with hate.
But hey, that's just me.
The Nobel Committee had better just fold up tent, and simply start handing out the Nobel "Peace" Prize to the most vicious killer on the planet each year..so far as that killer is killing Americans that is.

Whatever bitch. Bush would kick your ass in a straight up fight. Now maybe as you two were circling, you had Chomsky sneak up and hit Bush in the knee with some Marxist textbook, you may have a chance, but otherwise, forget it.

So much hypocrisy contained in such a short article.

[Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush. "I have a very hard time with this word 'non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64. "Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." It's our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life."]

Another advocate for "peace" who professes to believe in the righteousness of pacifism and then makes an exemption against the people on her personal hate list. And of course she can't bring herself to condemn Saddam Hussein and his cronies for murdering a million innocent civilians, because her condemnation is already used up on the people who replaced them with a democratic government.

But as long as you chant "peace" over and over again you must be morally superior to others.

Well, maybe once a decade the Nobel Committee awards the Peace Prize to someone who actually deserves it

The Nobel Peace Prize over the past 30 years....has turned into more of a joke than an honor. The amusing thing...is that I can go across to 1 million Americans....and less than 20,000 can name more two guys who ever won the peace prize. Teddy Roosevelt will be one of those that they name....and that really shows the value of the award. I can make the same request of any German...and will be lucky if they do any better than two names.

That's as good as the violent discussions held over the location of the
new "Peace Studies" institute at a Big 12 university.
(I heard about this on local radio)

Some people get hardening of the cerebral arteries when they age.

Maybe we can convince her to succeed the "grizzly man" and protect grizzlies from mean hunters up in Alaska.
