Oh, good, guess who wants to send troops to patrol the Lebanese border...the Russians and the French!
Just heard this on Fox News from Eric Shaw.

"We just feel the US government has put its citizens at risk by supplying missiles when many US citizens are still there," said Nabih Ayad, lawyer for committee and the citizens who were all in Lebanon. Ayad said a few included in the lawsuit are still trying to leave the country. Oh, cry me a freakin' river. They have got to be kidding.

Never underestimate the unholy combination of lawyers and the left, especially when they see an opportunity to bollix things up and make money at the same time.

What is so popular about Beirut that folks flock there to enjoy themselves, even in times of great political turmoil? Maybe I'll make travel arrangements...

I wondered what your humidity might be close to the River, but if there has been no rain for six months do you still have a river, or does it exist only on maps? Where does your water come from? There are two rivers in Iraq and both flow all year long. I live right on the banks of the Tigris. The water table in Iraq is only about 4 feet below the surface in some places - there's LOTS or water underground here. That fact makes Iraq different from just about all the other Middle Eastern countries.

How far does this go back?
Lebanon: Travel Warning
U.S. Department of State
28 August 2000
The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Lebanon and recommends that Americans exercise caution while traveling there. During Lebanon's civil conflict from 1975 to 1990, Americans were the targets of numerous terrorist attacks in Lebanon. While there have been very few such incidents in recent years, the perpetrators of these attacks are still present in Lebanon and retain the ability to act.
The local security environment in Lebanon can limit the movement of U.S. officials in certain areas of the country....

"a mosque in sidon was being run by hezbollah, it was hit by air strikes last night"
Maybe we need to take a page from the Israeli warfare book and not be afraid to hit a mosque ourselves if it is being used by terrorists in Iraq. The Israelis seem to care significantly less than we do about world opinion. I say--GO ISRAEL!
