It was a Democratic president who first recognized the State of Israel. It was a Democratic President who first sold Israel defensive weapons. And it was a Democratic President who first sold Israel offensive weapons.

Unfortunately, for him, ever since Robert Kennedy took a bullet for his support for Israel, Democrats have been reconsidering. When Truman wrote his autobiography, his stalwart support for Israel was controversial. It has only gotten worse.
