Most Children Left Behind ( Government schools can NOT be religiously neutral!)
TheNewMediaJournal.us ^ | July 19, 2006 | Tony Rubolotta

Posted on 07/23/2006 8:14:44 AM PDT by wintertime

The 1962 Supreme Court decision, Engel v. Vitale, started an irreversible march toward liberal indoctrination, primarily moral relativism. Successive court decisions, even to this day, continue to undermine moral and parental authority. The idea that schools could socialize children to value neutral codes of conduct and ethics is an oxymoronic absurdity. Of course, it was never the intent of liberals to offer value neutral anything. With God out of the way as the source of moral standards, the schools’ only concern was those pesky parents and their held-over religious beliefs. The war against parental authority was on.

"If you want to raise a bunch of amoral, pleasure-seeking, government dependent automatons that can’t figure out why jobs are moving off-shore, then keep them in public schools."

If the only problem were teaching children that two plus two is always four that could be corrected. How do you correct the belief that sex, self-esteem, self-indulgence, consensus and materialism are the most important things in life? How do you counter a belief that lying, cheating and stealing are legitimate means to an end if all ends are relative? How can you expect children to grow into ethical business leaders, politicians and citizens when the ethic has no basis other than the feel-good consensus of the moment?

I am FINALLY seeing described what is the most fundamental problem with governemnt schools. They NEVER were and NEVER will be politically, culturally, or religiously neutral. Neutrality in the education of children is impossible!

As Tony Rubolatta states, " The idea that schools could socialize children to value neutral codes of conduct and ethics is an oxymoronic absurdity."

And,,,he is correct! It never was and never will be the intent of the Liberal/Marxists to offer a morally neutral curriculum in our government schools.

The solution: Begin the process immediately of privatizing universal K-12 education. Possibly, we as citizens should challenge the government schools in the courts for their non-neutral religious positions.

Sad but true.

vouchers from tax funds, in the amount currently spent on each child in public school.

In DC, this is approximately $11,000 PER CHILD. Most districts spend at least $7K-9K per child, each year. A priate school education can be had for less in the area where I live.

Of course, this will never happen beacsue all the principles, assistant principles, special assistants to the princials, curriculm specialists, assistants to the curriculum specialists, diversity advisers....yada yada yada ... wil no linger be funded from the public tax teat

If you saw John Stossel's special on 20-20, he pointed out that in Europe, the money follows the child -- every child gets a voucher, and the parents choose the school, includingn private or religious schools. It works well over there, should work here too.

Any time that anybody talks about issues relating to where we or the universe came from, or what happens after death, is there a god, what is the value of man, meaning and purpose in life, ethics and morality, evil, apin, suffering, or the existence of truth, then they are teaching an inherantly "religious" viewpoint. These issues are part of any discussion in political science, social studies, history, literature, and of course, biology/evolution. A secular "religious" worldview, like Ann Coulter describes, has been foisted on our schools for decades, and we have been lied to by the secular fundamentalists who want to brainwash our kids.

What about the children in those religiously non-neutral government schools?

It's OK with you that the government is either establishing or destroying the religious belief of the children? I certainly hope not.

It is impossible to educate a child without broaching these topics, and these topics are RELIGIOUS in nature.

There is no way for any government school to deal with these issues without establishing the religious belief of some and actively and even maliciously destroying the religious belief of others.

We must NEVER again accept the argument from the secular humanists or atheists that government education is religiously neutral. It never was and never will be.

The idea that schools could socialize children to value neutral codes of conduct and ethics is an oxymoronic absurdity.

It is also a moral statement in and of itself.

It is also a violation of the First Amendment, which prohibits any restraint on the "free exercise" of religion by government entities.

It is also an abuse of taxpayer money, since I don't think anyone is sending their children to school to be "socialized to value neutral codes of conduct and ethics." I send my kids to school to learn to read and write!

It is also an attempt to usurp what has always been a parental prerogative -- indeed an obligation: to rear one's children to reflect those values the parents hold dear, not necessarily those espoused by the State.

Don't forget the army of mental health and "medical" personnel: behavior specialists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, shadow aides, and a whole slew of 'disorder' specialists to cope with all the new disorders that exist now such as dysgraphia (cannot write) or dyscalcula (cannot do math).

Remember that the schools themselves are neutral, it is the people behind the schools that cause problems. And not just teachers and administrators, but school boards, State boards of education, State legislators, the Department of Education and every bureaucrat and sleazebag at every level who wants to interfere, and maybe make some money out of the deal.

Ironically, the biggest path to interference is the federal school lunch program. Started with an idea that "no one" could object to, of providing at least one nutritious meal a day to poor children, it is now the lynchpin to endless and consuming federal demands. It was the signature in blood on the devil's contract.

But there are endless others who seek to prey on children like a collective of pedophiles. "Researchers", who waste children's time filling out dozens of biased "surveys", all with the intent of changing public policy. With full knowledge that the children will egregiously lie on those surveys, and taking that into account to make the absence of a problem appear to be a hysterical crisis.

"Statistics show that 4th graders on average inject heroin at least twice a week!!!" Only a MASSIVE INFLUX of public money can stop this EPIDEMIC by hiring thousands of social workers to waste more of the children's school time. And they say it with a straight face.

But the list is almost endless. Grasping teacher's unions more interested in politics than teachers or students. Bloated school bureaucracies. Agenda-driven parents who want special treatment for their children, or just love the thrill of controlling local schools. Safety fanatics for whom no risk is acceptable. Teachers who want to do everything but teach their subject. Administrators who refuse to suspend or expel students for fear of losing the daily state aid of hundreds of dollars.

The age of public schooling, as such, is drawing to a close.

Fortunately, technological and business innovation is starting to provide reasonable alternatives.

I don't think you grasp it.

The education of children is NEVER religiously neutral. It is impossible for any school to be religiously neutral. That is why government must get out of the business.

Because the education of children is religiously, politically, and culturally rich in content and character, these matters must be decided privately in private settings between parents teachers and principals.

It is also a violation of the First Amendment, which prohibits any restraint on the "free exercise" of religion by government entities.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Government schools violate freedom of assembly by forcing children into its buildings ( kiddy prisons) by threat of police action.

Once in the government buildings children are told to shut up. Their freedom to publish is eliminated. They can not express or practice their religious belief freely. They are FORCED to assemble with those of the government's choosing.

And,,,,the government subjects them to a non- neutral religious indoctrination.

All of this is prohibited in our state and federal constitutions. Why? Because they are human rights.

If state constitutions call for free government owned and run schools then their is an internal conflict within the document, because Government schools and First Amendment rights can NOT co-exist. It is axiomatic!

No, this is about a fundamental, axiomatic principle.

The education of children is NEVER religiously neutral and that especially includes government schools. It is why government schools should never be in the education business.

Facts are neutral things. If the schools just taught facts, there could be no objection. But not only do the schools teach opinion and propaganda disgused as fact, they do so at the expense of worthwhile subjects entirely!

Probably not going to work unless we can get more conservative judges throughout the system. Easier and more likely to succeed is for a bunch of conservatives to become teachers. (this is not to say you shouldn't try your way, too.)

Well schools don't HAVE to address the topic of homosexuality. It was considered criminal and immoral and even the topic of promiscuity was frowned upon (it carries with it emotional scarring, VD, and a greater chance of pregnancy).

The police DO still pursue corrupting the morals of a minor charges but they never go after school districts for this.

The Sex Positive agenda pushes through an active sexual lifestyle for children. This is why they oppose abstinence, they consider it unhealthy as it is a suppression of sexual desires.

Here's a book and a review that highlight the agenda (although you can search the feminist theory of sex positive teaching and find many many links):

Playbook for Kids About Sex (Paperback)
by Joani Blank, Marcia Quackenbush (Illustrator)

Most excellent!, November 13, 1998
Reviewer: A reader
Children's sexuality is a part of the human experience which in today's world we mostly encounter in negative, semi-paranoid terms. This book, a veritable Playbook in all true senses of the word, is an agent of consciousness, helping to usher in the coming age of a sensuous tenderness, of an understanding of sexual pleasure without guilt, of a joyous sharing of delight without cruelty, bigotry, exploitation, discrimination; it's a "hands-on!" guide to exploration and a companion to pleasure, Humanity's birthright.
The children of the world are the ones who will actualize this birthright to a Natural sensuality in their own lives, within their own experiences as children now, and as adults in the near future. The Playbook is an aid, a guide, a friend who will help bring about a world in which it will be unknown, weird - pathological! - to deprive any person of their enjoynment of sexual pleasure, or to exploit another's needs and desires, or worse, to sexually impose one's self on another being.

Without mentioning any theory, the Playbook draws on the brilliant and insightful work of Dr. Wilhelm Reich, ("Children of the Future"; "The Sexual Revolution"). Without going into political sloganeering, the Playbook is an embodiment of straightforward Feminist perceptions of power, gender, race and sexuality. Without getting legalistic, or falling into any clinical, pseudo-scientific argumentations, the Playbook takes the victories of the Gay Rights Movement into a whole new sphere: it helps the future adult's sense of reality be formed by assuming right from the start that it's Natural to have a freedom of choice in sexual identity!

Was this review helpful to you?

Voluntary contributions will easily provide education for poor children.

Currently, government schooling sucks in over $300 Billion a year. Abolish that $300 Billion in taxes, and the population will easily provide a vastly better education for every child for about $150 Billion. From the $150 Billion that would be freed up, ALL POOR CHILDREN can be GIVEN a good education for about $30 Billion in voluntary charitable gifts.
