"Everything Bolton says publicly is perfect. He doesn't bash the U.N. but he states the truth simply and accurately".

And could this be the reason the Democrats did not want him in the UN. I can answer that --- yes!

Also, I thought John Bolton had until the end of President Bush's term!

$446, my guess is you are a quart low on Gingko Biloba today. Must have used it all up on the Israel 2000 plus posts thread.

"---Brit is sitting in Chris Wallace's seat".

To me it will always be Brit's seat - Wallace just tries to fill it!

Thanks for posting this... I thought it was schools... but the Patty Murray comment was what my memory couldn't bring up. IT WAS DAY-CARE CENTERS!

Brit Hume nailing Dennis Hastert down on whether and to what extent he would side with Jefferson was priceless!

Hastert kept trying to make it sound like he and Jefferson were poles apart on their conception of what the separation of powers implies about Congressional immunity to search and seizure, but Hume was just too knowledgeable for that and kept pressing... I don't want to put words in Hastert's mouth but hopefully interviews like this cause him to reconsider his notion of Congress's special privileges.

Hume was of course also masterful as moderator, and since Gigot wasn't focusing on immigration, he did a good job taking Brit's place in the refuting-Juan position.

What I'm wondering is, did anybody catch Mort Kondrake insult Rush Limbaugh this week on Beltway Boys, saying something like "(the far Left supporting Ned Lamont) are just as hateful as demagogues like Rush Limbaugh?" I don't remember his exact wording, but as Daschle would say, I was disappointed that Fred Barnes's only defense of Rush was that the far left was much more hateful, because I generally admire Fred. Did anyone hear that? What is the Weekly Standard's problem with Rush? Other than Hugh Hewitt, they all seem to look down on him.

I guess you didn't get to see Juan on Bill O'Reilly's show the other night when Laura Ingraham was subbing, did you??

OH, MY----He was TEN times worse with her than he is on Bri's panel..

HE asked Laura where SHE has been...when he was spouting how all we and the Israelis are doing is making MORE terrorists....LOL

She said, SHE has been watching the news and reading, and they aren't going to like us, or stop being terrorists if we are "nice" to them..

She really slapped him down...but, I guess he didn't "learn" anything since then, if he was using those type talking points today.

If you want, you should go to the Middle East Thread for Friday night...when the show was on...the comments from freepers was hilarious!

#461,John Bolton's appt expires at the end of this Session of Congress. I am sure that Josh Bolten,GWB, even Andy Card have had a plan since he (John Bolton) was recess appointed. I do not believe the Dems will want to mess with this one, as serious as the Situations have gotten in Iran,Israel,N Korea, and elsewhere. Seems like Iraq looks like a pretty calm place right now compared to the other things going on in the World.

They need to consult with us before they try these things so that we can tell them how to do it right! ;^>

It would certainly help them from having to shuffle their deck so many times when they find no one is accepting their latest deal.

I'm with you, an MP3 file would have been the easiest and the real deal. I could live with just the audio.

Also, I thought John Bolton had until the end of President Bush's term!

It's one of those things where I heard on some talk show or another that he was up for nomination in September.

Now I could have misheard so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Bolton was a recess appointment. How does that work?

On FNS Bolton answered Brit about making the rounds because his confirmation hearing was coming up, again. Next week, I think. That would indicate he has to go through it again but this time I don't think he has the opposition nor are there enough votes to block his confirmation.

#465, probably because Rush can have an off the cuff thought monologue and not stammer through it like Fred and Mort do. Rush does their homework for them, and even when they use his work they get it wrong a lot of the times. They both are stuck on Beltway Stoo-pid, and sometimes I think they pander to the wackos and those lightweight dems that listen to Fox News Watch to see when Neal Gabler is going to go off the deep end. He sounds more and more nutty and any day I expect him to star in the real life version of "one flew over the Cuckoo's nest" like Lawrence O'Donnell did on Scarborough. That would be a great thread. We could name it "Kook, kook act Two".

I did hear Mort say that...but, I think Rush feeds off of it...so I just chuckle.

A couple of weeks ago, both Mort and Fred said something that really scared me...but I didn't post on it (forgot)...

They were discussing the news that the billionaire (dang, his name escapes me)..had donated a TON of his billions to the Bill Gates Foundation.

And both of them said that in this case, it is too bad that so few people control all of the money, and it may be better to have some of that spread out to the poor. YIKES.

#471, I believe that again GWB played this well. He knew that once John Bolton took the reigns, he would excell and impress. I am sure he figured that with N Korea always a problem and Iran, and all of the other hot spots possibly ready to boil over anytime that the Dems are tone deaf about how the public perceives them on our National Security, and Foreign Poicy. They are not that tone deaf. You do not open you mouth if you are Dems trying to prove they are strong on Security. Chris Dodd is just not very bright especially these days, and he made a bloody fool of himself on this today.

A recess appointment is only good until the NEXT new Congressional session starts...so, after the November elections..those who are elected will be sworn in in January...

So that is how long Bolton has, until the new Congress is sworn in in January...unless they confirm him before hand for a full stint under President Bush.
