“No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.” We love to quote Winston Churchill when reflecting on the human condition. In life and in legacy his persona of calm resolve has helped steady the nerves of Western civilization through the murderous rampages of Hitler, Stalin and Mao.
But when he spoke the words above, Sir Winston was not referring to Fascism or Communism he was talking about Islam
Maybe, just maybe, after seeing half his country blasted to smithereens by the Nazis while helping to save the known world from total destruction...maybe Winston knew a thing or two about good and evil.
Sixty years later, unfortunately, we have become so politically correct – so supremely “sensitive” – that we don’t have the jowls to light a cigar and tell it like it is anymore.
And here’s the way it is: Islam has one goal. To propagate. To inexorably become the one and only religion and way of life. Not to happily coexist, not to celebrate your right or mine to believe something else. Thus the apocalyptic myth about “moderate” Islam. If you follow Islam, you are extreme by definition.

While browsing the Good Book you’ll discover many other interesting commandments for true-believers living a blessed and tolerant life, such as: Women are property; men should have as many teenage wives as they can conquer; “unbelievers” should be subjugated or killed; and a genocidal maniac, er, I mean a jihadist, who dies for the cause is awarded 21 virgins whom he may ravage at will in Paradise whilst wading in rivers of wine and honey.
This is a religious incentive for killing yourself and someone’s babies!
And we’re the decadent infidels? Alrighty then.
Oh, and here are the options identified in the Koran for everyone who is not a Muslim. You may:
1) convert to Islam; or
2) become a slave to Muslims and pay a slave tax (it’s called jizya); or
3) be killed, preferably via a blade to the throat (“smite unbelievers at the neck”).
But of course the Koran and peaceful Islam have nothing to do with beheadings of journalists and construction workers rebuilding schools in Iraq.
There is absolutely no gray area in the Mythlamic Code of Justice. You are either Muslim or you are an unbeliever. Period. You might actually believe in all kinds of good things, such as Jesus, Buddha, being kind to your fellow man, feeding the homeless, giving fatherless children some baseball lessons, sending part of your shrinking income to earthquake victims, well, the list goes on. But if you’re not Muslim, you’re just not with the program.
And getting the entire planet onto the program is the driver of Islamic terrorism. And it’s the same program ascribed to by so-called moderates as the extremists who are maiming people during breaks from prayer.
Ever ask yourself why the so-called moderate Muslims – which according to the pundits of political correctness are supposed to be 99% of all Muslims – don’t themselves try to stop their terrorist brethren? Why mothers of suicide bombers receive gifts and accolades from their neighbors (and until recently $20,000 ‘thank you’ checks from Saddam)? Why the Arab “street” goes into an orgy of celebration every time a Western city is ripped apart by a psycho-bomber? Why four years after 9/11 there has been no noticeable movement by Muslims to stop the fanatics from “hijacking” their religion?
Answer: Because terrorists are not hijacking Islam they are exercising it.
It is true that not every Muslim is a terrorist. But every Muslim is ready to accept the suffering and death of unbelievers (a.k.a, the rest of the world) should Allah will it. Your Muslim neighbor might not put a bomb under your Volvo, but should you and your family go up in flames one day, well, it’s just the will of God. The peaceable Islamic deli guy might not serve you ricin in your rice pudding, but if your plane should smash into a building, well, a few less infidels to poison the faith.
Allah is wise. Allah be praised.
So, when the next bomb or anthrax canister goes off in the subway we won’t get outrage from Muslims, and we won’t get a call for jihad against the serial killers.
We’ll get a group shrug rehearsed over a thousand years of single-mindedness.
So it goes. And so we go, zoning out to CNN and the talking bobble-heads of political correctness while the Retrograde Force uses our jellied backbones as a weapon against us.
Winston. Where are you? We need you.

Funny thing is, Churchill described islam as a "retrograde force" in 1899 in The River War, long before he knew anything about Nazi's.

Winston Churchill is dead. As is the culture that produced him. As is the culture that existed in his manhood and at the time of his death.
It's just us now and I won't be surprised if, before the end of this year, people ar volunteering in surprisingly large numbers to join Israel in the big fight against an enemy who stood in plainsight for all these years.
That's the problem- too many people do NOT read the koran and hadith, and see what Islam really is. It's a war manual, a bloody death cult, a book of hate.
