The United States, Israel, the United Nations and the European Union have reluctantly concluded that despite punishing military attacks, Hezbollah is likely to survive as a political player in Lebanon, and Israel now says it is willing to accept the organization if it sheds its military wing and abandons extremism, according to several key officials."To the extent that it remains a political group, it will be acceptable to Israel," Israeli Ambassador Daniel Ayalon said yesterday in the strongest sign to date that the Israelis are rethinking the scope and ultimate goals of the campaign. "A political group means a party that is engaged in the political system in Lebanon, but without terrorism capabilities and fighting capabilities. That will be acceptable to Israel."

Israel lost.
Ok, break out the chainsaws!!!!
And there should be no war and everybody should love each other.. LoL..
LIBERALS?... (Eddie Murphy laugh)...
Face-saving time...
The West is delusional or else purposely contributing to the slow strangulation of the Jewish state.
(Robin Wright found a home at the Wash. Post, and they deserve each other.) She was on CNN or MSNBC last night, spouting the Clintonoid line...that all this could have been avoided if, 6 years ago, the Bush admin. had been more hands on in the Middle East, (like Bill.) God help Israel and us all if the WH listens to them.
They've forgotten about Hezbollah's response. I guarantee the answer will be "No Way". That's saying it politely.
I am literally laughing so hard, that I can barely type this!!!!
VERY GOOD !!!
Now if Israel agrees to stop the offensive before it defeats Hezbollah militarily and removes the rockets and tunnels from the south of Lebanon, then it will have lost. Call me when they agree to that, and I will join you in singing goodbye to Israel, because the end will be inevitable.

Dang that's got to be the nerdiest reference I've *ever* read.
Of course, I *did* get it... so... anyway...
Hezbolla has sufficiently penetrated Lebanon shia community to such an extent that eliminating hezbolla without decimating or genociding that community is impossible.
There's a lot of difference in 10% and genocide. Which one do you find acceptable?
Whichever is sufficient.
This is moot as long as Hezzies won't, in fact, disarm.
For all the media hype, this looks like a no cojones, no win situation. Israel and the United States are verbally strong and weak on actions.
The EU, UN appeasement axis is allowed to work in favor of no decisive action against Hezbollah.
Iran really is the enemy and unless U.S. policy deals with it we are ultimately in trouble as China will have an ally when it ultimately builds up its military strength in the next 10-15 years.
This is an election year and U.S. military action waits until an off year. I can wait for the military action against Iran until 2007, but I see compromise and appeasement with those that are hostile to the United States out there from the bad guys (North Korea, Iran) to their friends like China and Russia and the appeasers like the EU and UN.
What about Iran? They'll never accept a disarmed Hezzies! They'll just re-arm them secretly! Thru Syria!
