It is absolutely true. If you spend years reading British Fleet Street publications (which on a whole is slightly more conservative than their counterparts in Canada due to the influence of London Times and Daily Telegraph), you would have thought even Time reads "conservative".
Plainly speaking, at least 2/3 of US liberals would be "centre-right" had they been in New Zealand or any European country you name.

The rest of the world needs to fear what we think of them. That very few really do says much about what their true feelings are, deep down. If they really thought America was an imperialistic behemoth, out to destroy everything in her path, they would be cowering instead of spouting off. They would treat us as Europe did Stalinist USSR, instead of complaining like a pissed off teenager whining about their hopelessly square parents.

Ms. Namibia is hot. We need to have a Miss Universe contest every month.

Also, had they been really real afraid, they would spend tons of money on military buildups, in both size and technologies. Perhaps building a few ICBMs, destroyers.

"Not much. 90% of Americans probably never heard of them, and those who do probably know that the CBC makes CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and MSNBC look conservative by comparison."
In addition, these 90% would have confused the CBC with CBS. I once dug really deep into townhall.com and Daily Kos's archives - which represent both the conservative and Left of US political spectrum - and each and every one of their articles that mention the CBC was in fact reference to Dan Rather's channel.

Although, come to think of it, NZ is prime real estate... and it isn't as if they've been updating their navy lately. Hmmm.
For that matter, a sudden attack on Canada, and we could occupy every major population center in about 15 minutes. They'd never suspect a thing until it was too late.
Maybe there's something to this New American Empire thing after all.

WHEN WE WANT THE WORLD'S OPINION WE'LL ASK FOR IT!
If I want to hear from an a$$hole, I just let a fart. I don't have to tune in to CBC to hear a Canadian one, or one from any other sh1thole nation. It's not that I'm arrogant, It's that I'm arrogant AND I don't give a crap what they're saying in the international peanut gallery!

The next time some country is in trouble whether it is from famine, pestilence, natural disaster or military invasion, Americans should give them the collective finger and tell them to fix their own problems. Of course the same hate America crowd would then whine that America has an obligation to help these poor people.

I think I mentioned this to you before. You can't become king of Bermuda and pass such a law without first banning Hillary Clinton, Madeline Albright, Janet Reno, & Barbra Stresand from setting foot there. Having them walking around in bikinis would a crime against humanity!....LOL
