Blanco’s new hire to live at mansion

Gov. Kathleen Blanco’s new senior adviser’s job is to advise her, to help her communicate and to be on hand at all times by living at the Governor’s Mansion.

Aprill Springfield, 31, holds a law degree from Georgetown University and worked for U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Capitol Hill.

As Blanco’s senior advisor, she will earn $80,000 a year.

Springfield is one of three executive staff members that Blanco hired this week. She is the only member of the Blanco administration to have the distinction of living at the 25,000-square-foot mansion that also is home to Blanco and First Gentleman Raymond “Coach” Blanco.

I don't follow Louisiana politics closely enough to know why she was elected in the first place, and what her popularity ratings were like before the storm. Did Louisiana voters realize what an idiot she was before, or did it take Katrina to show them her complete incompetence?

Three members of Sen. Hillary Clinton's staff who also worked on her Senate campaign have formed legal-defense funds. The staffers are Ramon Martinez III, Sean Sweeney and Aprill Springfield, the New York Post reports in an article that notes a federal prosecutor is still examining whether Bill Clinton commuted the sentences of four Hasidic Jews in exchange for votes for his wife.

I think it goes deeper than that.

The Left transfers personnel from PACs and liberal organizations, to press positions, and campaigns as a method of facilitating coordination. Actual communication between those organizations has legal limits, but the information carried within their heads is not off limits.

Ms. Springfield's transfer to Blanco's staff indicates collaboration between the Clinton management team, Blanco's team, and at least one supposedly non-partisan group and maybe more.

The Left has long maintained that the non-existent Right Wing Conspiracy actually exists. They've gone as far as establishing their own Left Wing Conspiracy under Hillary Clinton's thumb. We've seen it in action in 2000, 2002, and 2004 in the improbable, and allegedly coincidental convergence of media stories and political ad campaigns in each campaign season.
