As always, you can request music on the thread by pinging laurenmarlowe. There are many Canteen Deejays and everyone loves to play music for our Troops and everyone else. Laurenmarlowe is the one responsible for music requests unless you have a specific requests for our Troops for a particular Canteen Deejay. Please note that in your post when asking for a song from another Canteen Deejay. This is to keep from wasting bandwidth and time. Thank you!!
Also, we strongly encourage everyone to support all the artists you will hear playing in the Canteen. All the links are provided at the top of the thread. We also offer jukeboxes! As always, the music content is of a wide range of selections and parental attention to any children listening to the music is advised. Most of the material is meant for our Troops aged 18 and up, but we are mindful that children can also be listening and have selections that are okay for them.

Panasonic "Dynamite 8" RQ-830S
Panasonic's advertising tag line was "Just Slightly Ahead of Our Time," and when it came to portables, they were king. The "Dynamite 8" model is probably the best remembered and has come to symbolize the entire 8-track oeuvre. It's in mono, has no automatic track changer (you have to hit that plunger, man!), no headphone jack, no tone control, but it's still one of the most sought-after of early '70s portables. The Plunger came in an assortment of colors (red, blue, and yellow, and clear), and was great for the beach.
