A former councilman and one-time mayoral candidate was convicted of spray-painting anti-war slogans on highway overpasses.
Mike Ferner was found guilty of felony vandalism and possession of criminal tools. He faces up to two years in prison.
Ferner, 55, could have agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge and avoided trial. But he said he saw the trial as another opportunity to make his case against the war in Iraq.
He was arrested in January along Interstate 475 and U.S. 23. The State Highway Patrol said Ferner painted the slogan "Troops Out Now" on several overpasses.
Ferner has been a critic of U.S. military action in Iraq and in 2003 took part in a "peace tour" there.
He was elected to City Council in 1989 as an independent. In 1993, he ran unsuccessfully for mayor.
What a maroon!
What exactly have the anti war crowd achieved in the last 20 years? Aside from acting like fools and screaming themselves horse.

This is something you often see on the left, the guy is 55 yet he still has the energy, and goofy passions of a teenage liberal.
This guy is a sad figure that never grew up, and the left has millions of them.
I just sent our little town's sole klan pink representative into muttering fits at the post office.
She was arguing with the postmaster when I went in so I asked her what they've managed to achieve. I also informed her that the Israelis are massing on the Lebanese border preparing for an invasion, so they haven't stopped that. Then I asked if klan pink plans to protest the KKK antiwar rally. She just said that we cave men wouldn't understand and stomped out.
The postmaster just chuckled at me and said "Damn John, you have a hell of a way with women. The poor little thing forgot her mail here on the counter."
