Rest in Peace, Matthew Wallace.
The family was greatly heartened by each person who viewed the first post (over 1,300 people - bless each and every one of you!) and sent a prayer. We cannot express our gratitude. It means everything to the family.
Below is the email we received from our church.
The Wallace Family were able to get to Germany safely, thank you for your prayers. At 07:30a.m. EST, the family chose to unplug Matthew from the ventilator. He very quickly and peacefully passed away. The family reports the "Spirit of Liberty" was very present in the room, there was a strong presence of comfort, release and edification surrounding them. They are at peace with their decision, and grateful to have been together as a family in that moment. Please just continue to pray for them as they prepare for the days ahead. Specifically pray for the active grace of the Lord to cover and fill the family and help them through this very difficult time.
Tragic. Very tragic.
I hope the day come soon when our troops can finish their mission and come home.
Joh 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
I'm so sorry for his suffering and for his loss. Heartfelt sympathy to those who knew him and loved him.
Rest in Peace Matthew. May God Bless your family for their and your sacrifice. Thank you for your service to this great country.
Rest in Peace Matthew. We are all greatly indebted to you.
God Bless him and his family....

Very sad. God's blessings on this young man's spirit and my prayers to the family and loved ones left behind.
I'm so sorry to hear this. Thank you for telling us - I was wondering how he was doing.
We will all be praying for his family.
May God bless and keep this young man and continue to watch over his family. We have lost one of our best.
Prayers to Our Heavenly Father for Matthew and the Wallace family.
God help them; it is so hard, and yet... and yet...
our children make choices that only the bravest and best would make. The bitterness of their passing is seasoned with the sweetness of their valor. Never again does the word "hero" pass lightly from our lips, for we have known the real ones, and we are the keepers of their memory. Hard reality will someday give way to a softer sorrow, and love will overcome heartache...
Tell them that the love and beautry of their children will not pass from our memory.
