a) solidify that Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia maintain their stance against Hellzabaloo (Rengel spelling)
Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt do not want Hezbollah coming after them; they are aware as are we, that this is Iran's grasping attempt to play Caliphate Monopoly with the entire ME. This is "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" with some Arab states regarding Israel.
b) quietly warn the Palis that there days are also numbered
The Palis align with anyone any group that is anti-west, anti Israel. They are also hurting financially and that makes them more desperate for Iranian assistance. Dr. Rice is supposedly going to talk (read: warn) Abbas.
c) tell Israel to keep up the good work.
That one is self-evident.
Now there are those who believe this is an opportune time to knock the President as "givng in to terrorists," by sending Dr. Rice. I do not share that opinion, because his Administration is not following the previous pattern of calling for cease fires, we'll talk and nosh at Camp David in front of the cameras routine.
